Grew up in the league or during childhood?

Some in one, some in the other. There's no denying that kids who show the kind of ability that lands them in the NFL or NBA get a lot of leeway, especially once they hit college. Way too much money in college football and basketball for their not to be a lot of corruption that impacts these kids.

Hernandez just killed 3 people while he was on the team.

There were some red flags with him, but show me the team or GM who knew he would become a murderer.

Dont sleep on the Dolphins. That Dline is just disgustingly good, and they are going to set the tone each game. The offense is going to be much improved, and if the line holds up, I expect Tannehill to have an Pro Bowl year.

As much as its a QB-first league, the Dolphins' D is going to be very good (as is the Bills' and Jets'). I think Miami has the most upside in comparison to last season of any team in the division. Should be an interesting season in the AFC East.

Hernandez? Remember when the Patriots cut him before he was even charged?

The Ravens definitely help cover up for felons so they can try to keep them on the field. See: Lewis, Ray, and Rice, Ray.

And don't the Cowboys have someone on their roster who killed a teammate while DUI a couple years ago? Smith hasn't even killed anyone yet, I'm sure he'd fit right in down there in Jerry's World.

You are thinking of the Josh Brent case where he killed another Dallas Cowboy who was the passenger in his car while he was driving under the influence. He was given a second chance by the Cowboys, but the he called it quits after one game and an injury. He retired.

Before the start of TC, I thought that the Bills and Jests have the better Dlines than the Fins (Jests have arguably the best D in the league), but having seen what is going on so far in camp, Id take our Dline over anyone else in the league. Wake and Suh on the left side simply is not fair. They are going to cause major issues for the opposition. Couple that with Mitchell, Phillips, Johnson, Mosely, along with Vernon, Fede, and Shelby on the right side, and its just not fair.

I really like how they reconstructed the Dolphins offense. The line still worries me, but the skill positions are much better than last year.

-Miller had a solid year last year, and looks to gain off of that this season. He added some weight, but still has that speed and elusiveness. 1200+ could be a possibility with a few more touches a game this season.

-The WR core is very good. While their future #1 (Devante Parker) wont see action until Week 1, they still are working with Landry, Stills, Jennings, and Mathews. Landry is going to be the next star in this league, and 100+ catches isnt out of the question. Best WR core in the AFC East IMO, one of the best in the conference.

-Cameron is an upgrade over Clay at TE. His size is going to be for the Fins in the redzone. Pro Bowl season isnt out of the question if he is healthy. Sims is a very good backup, who can block well, and catch everything.

As long as the line holds up, which we dont know yet since they have only been going up against our D, Tannehill is going to be very good this year. He has all the weapons he needs, and entering his 4th year as the Fins QB, he looks poised to take that next step. Definitely going to be fun watching this offense play this season.

Agree that this has potential to be one of the most dominant D-lines since the days of Grier, Lundy, Jones and Olsen but I still have concerns about the Dolphins' linebackers and secondary. It is no good having a crushing D line if the opposing offense is just going to throw quick hitches and screens outside and our linebackers and cornerbacks can't get up to make the stop which we have seen far too much of in the past few seasons.

Other than injury prone Misi, injury prone Delmas, Grimes and possibly Reshad Jones who else would you rate on the defense behind the front four?

Love me some Jenkins. He needs to improve on his coverage, but I like his upside. I like Taylor opposite of Grimes too. I think he is going to be a good #2 for us.

The LBers are a concern, but as long as they stay healthy, I think they will be productive. We have depth at CB, and we have some young talent there. I think McCain will prove to be a big signing for us. He has been a ball hawk throughout camp, and even though he is small, he has that same athleticism as Grimes. I know the positions are arent as pretty as our Dline, but there are a lot of serviceable players there.

What is going to happen is what you described, how our D is going to force the ball out of the opposing QBs hand quicker. The Dline is also going to open up holes for the LBs, making it easier for them. It all comes down to that Dline again, and its not just Suh. Our 3rd stringers would be playing significant minutes for other teams. The depth is insane.

As a Titans fan, I have no delusion of grandeur. Not even thinking playoffs this year. I just want to see the team improve and I think they have.

This will be the 2nd full year in the switch to a 3-4 defense and they have more of the personnel fit for it. The addition of Dick Lebeau cannot be understated. That guy has been pulling rabbits out of his hat longer than most of us have been alive. Simply the knowledge he can impart onto a defense is immeasurable.

ON the flipside, all accounts coming out of training camp is it looks like the Titans have finally found a franchise QB. Mariota is doing all that is asked fro him and more. Still hasn't thrown a pick in training camp or OTA's.

Just looking forward to Friday to actually see him in action.

I think the Titans will be much improved this season. I'd say either 6-10 or 7-9.

I would honestly be happy with either of those as long as there isn't any blowouts. The biggest thing they need is for the offense to quit having 3 and outs nonstop. Give the defense a breather and they wouldn't be half as bad as they looked last year.

NFL Network is saying that LB IK Enemkpali sucker punched him in the locker room. Enemkpali has been released by the Jets.
Hard Knocks picked the wrong team to follow this year. I wonder what they were arguing about.

Rough day. A Jets fan usually has to wait until October for this kind of abuse. :D

i've always liked fitzpatrick. he had one fairly decent year with the bills and then pfft. oh well. good luck.

as a raider fan i can't talk smack to anyone just yet. ;)

Someone national was on one of the sports radio stations here in Boston and was talking about how impressed he was with Mariota and thought his long-term upside was quite good.

Re Geno Smith: I really don't understand all the talk about how it's his fault for not having good leadership. Call me crazy, but I place the blame for a jaw-breaking punch on the guy who threw the punch. Over a plane ticket, no less.

I guess this means the New York Jokes Circus is on for 2015? :D
