Someone national was on one of the sports radio stations here in Boston and was talking about how impressed he was with Mariota and thought his long-term upside was quite good.
Re Geno Smith: I really don't understand all the talk about how it's his fault for not having good leadership. Call me crazy, but I place the blame for a jaw-breaking punch on the guy who threw the punch. Over a plane ticket, no less.
And the Bills have claimed Ikemefuna "The Iron Fist" Enemkpali off of waivers. Guess I shouldn't be too surprised that Rex Ryan is taking a chance on him. I wonder what sort of discipline the NFL will levy on Enemkpali. Since he stayed in the division, it should be really interesting if he ever plays against the Jets.

Interesting. Thought for sure no one would take a chance on him. Just something about breaking a teammates jaw in a locker room fight that just doesn't spell out team player to me. At least not smart enough to be a team player.
wow, real original
Hubbuch should worry about his own goon team KOing their own quarterback. Or he can kiss the rings.

This was my thought as well. Not sure what in the world Rex Ryan was thinking.

Easy there, you are using common sense and we can't have that type of thinking here. You mean, having somebody take responsibility for something they did!
And for the record I agree completely with your statement.
Now if he could only act like a better quarterback with an actual football coach.Acting (Ryan, Kap, Gronk):

Just the message the NFL wants to get out, when you commit a crime have someone else take the fall.Hall of Fame receiver Cris Carter has issued an apology for telling NFL rookies at a league symposium in 2014 that they should “get a fall guy” to help them avoid trouble.
Carter posted his apology on Twitter after an ESPN article drew attention to the remarks he made during a presentation last year. He told a group of rookies from NFC teams in the session that if any of them were to get into trouble off the field, it was important to have someone who would step forward and take the blame.
Carter says watching video of his message, which has been removed from NFL.com, “made me realize how wrong I was.”

Carter works as an analyst for ESPN.
Considering how ESPN is essentially an arm of the NFL, I fully expect Carter to take a brief vacation. So will Cris Carter be disciplined by ESPN for his comments?

Now to be fair, this clip stayed on NFL.com for a full year. So the league was aware of it.Considering how ESPN is essentially an arm of the NFL, I fully expect Carter to take a brief vacation.
I'd less of the arm and more of the mouthpiece - I'm not being sarcastic. The amount of kissing up and pandering is absolutely pathetic.Considering how ESPN is essentially an arm of the NFL, I fully expect Carter to take a brief vacation.

I largely stop going to espn because of the lack of integrity and how they report things. How they handled the patriots stuff from video taping to the deflate gate is embarrassing.
I'm not wanting to get into the specifics of what the patriots did as much as ESPN completely made up facts. They completely lied continually about the Pats video taping the super bowl practices that occurred years ago. They finally apologized for that (at like 3:00am or something) and they reported that 11 of the 12 footballs were under-deflated - a figure that is has no basis of reality.
Tbh, overall I'm less excited about this NFL season because of how the league is run. Roger Goodell and and owners are ruining the game and its becoming less and less enjoyable to watch. Over the past few years, I've enjoyed college football a whole lot more and I this year I can see myself watching more college then NFL.
I know, as the past few years have rolled on under Goodell, I'm just more and more disenfranchised. Sure I'll watch MNFB, or a Thursday evening game but the odds are high that on a sunday afternoon I'd rather be away from my TV at this point.Yup me too. Don't get me wrong college football has had it's issues too, but nothing on the scale the NFL has had.
There was little doubt wasn't there. I mean now its official but by all reports his tore is ACL.Packers confirm that Jordy Nelson is out for the season.![]()

Agreed, there's been way too many devastating injuries occurring this preseason. I have to agree with Rodgers, they need perhaps one game to get ready for the season. I wonder if coaches will be more likely to keep their starters out of the preseason games more and more to avoid this riskJust sad to see that on a non contact play.
