Yes, for an infraction that they didn't care about when other teams did it. Let's stop pretending it's about "the integrity of the game." People wanted Brady punished because he wins a lot and because they can't let go of another overblown scandal from eight years ago that they use to explain away all of New England's success.
Or the team is just dirty. Why wan't the coach involved in the investigation. The guy that knows every time somebody breathes on the team. The Patriots used Brady as the fall guy because Bellicheck was more important. Just listen to the presser in the winter when Bellicheck threw Brady under the bus.

What I think would make everybody stop bickering and shut up is if Jets win Super Bowl this year (hey, my Giants won WS in 2010 and Warriors in 2014-15 NBA so anything can happen) and for Pats to win the following year, all without incident. There was too much attention first to Coach Ryan and conflict with stars, and then to Brady/deflategate, and we should just all focus on football and give the NFL respectability again.

People could be happy and we can all get along as well as different fans are allowed to get along.

This forum has long been dominated by talk, and trash talk from these two teams, and there are other teams that should have consideration for our attention.

You are 100% right... So lets stop bickering about this deflate gate crap and get some predictions going

I'll start:

NFC East: The eagles look really good in the preseason but I just think they lost too many marquee players to sustain their success so I say COWBOYS take it

NFC West: The Rams are starting to look impressive but they might be 1 or 2 pieces away from being great. cant go against the SEAHAWKS here

NFC South: I think the SAINTS regain some composure this year and get back on top of the division, this is such a horrible division cant see anyone really taking it over

NFC North: Despite losing Jordy I think the PACKERS will dominate this division, they might get a fight from the lions but they will prevail in the end.

AFC East: every team got alot better in this division especially on defense. but as much as I hate to say it, as long as Brady-Belichik are together this is their division so begrudgingly I say the PATRIOTS but it will be alot tighter this year than in previous years

AFC West: Raiders are going to be good again but they are not quite there yet, I have trouble here picking between the chargers and Broncos, it all depends how Manning looks. Does he come back fresh and rested with a healthy arm? I am going to say BRONCOS but it will be close

AFC North: Steelers offense is going to be great but their defense just looked putrid in the pre-season, Ravens are just always consistent, and I think the Bengals might regress after another dissapointing playoff loss. I am going to go with the STEELERS here I just think they are going to outscore teams enough to cover up the bad defense

AFC South: Colts got some nice additions this off-season, but the Texans defense looks stout. I just dont think the texans will have the offensive fire power to keep up so I say COLTS take it

It's amazing to me, the extent to which Bill Belichick has absolutely mind-jobbed just about everyone. He's got Peyton Manning sweeping the locker room for bugs and conspiracy theories galore about why he and the Patriots' organization were absolved in the Wells Report. All because he filmed defensive signals for one game after everyone else stopped. It is hilarious.

I think we can take away 2 things from this whole stupid fiasco.
  1. Goodell is incompetent and should be fired immediately. Anyone with half a brain can make the NFL money.
  2. Patriot fans are delusional.

I see the Fins taking the division this year, because the Bills and Jets have no QB. Brady is a little older, a little slower (he was never fast:D) and facing three division foes with top tier D-lines. Unless his skills guys gets open real quick, he'll be staring at the sky or eating turf nearly every play.

AFC South: Colts got some nice additions this off-season, but the Texans defense looks stout. I just dont think the texans will have the offensive fire power to keep up so I say COLTS take it

Can't argue with this. Colts have a juggernaut offense; a who needs a D when you can score on every possession offense. My Texans, with arguably the worst QB in the division, don't stand a chance. A wildcard might be in the cards, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Those seem very safe, but I am not sure about Patriots only because the distractions have hurt the team imho. If Brady gets divorced, like the tabloids are predicting and it becomes a paparazzi circus, then this won't help. It didn't help Tiger Woods.

I am hoping the Raiders put something together in their division.

If Steelers have a bad defense, or if anybody does, there's no trip to the postseason. You can get by on mediocre QB like Flacco, but never anything lacking on defense. It's not the football we or the camera sees but it's still the core of who becomes a winner.

Seahawks, yes, they will win and I will hate every minute of it. They won a Super Bowl, lost a second one narrowly the year later, and they will represent the NFC again. Win or lose they are football's current dynasty for the next few years barring injury or trades. The Seahawks are one of the two reasons I keep watching football. The other reason is the 49ers doing well which won't happen for years, so I can enjoy rooting against Seattle with every dropped ball, botched pass, or move to beat Sherman. I think the upcoming season will be theirs to lose much the same way I predicted this current MLB season is KC's to lose (at least in American League).

Just an interesting read and some cool research (although pats fans won't like it :p): http://www.sharpfootballanalysis.co...iots-mysteriously-became-fumble-proof-in-2007

NE Fumbles with possibly deflated ball in first half of Colts game: 1
NE Fumbles in next three halves with well verified football: 0

:p

Yep.

you have nothing either, you have no idea what went on in that locker room or what brady said to the ball boys... So I guess we are in the same boat huh.
why would you come to the conclusion that ANYTHING HAPPENED when the ideal gas law (i'm guessing you haven't heard of it since you didn't answer my previous question) perfectly takes into account the deflation seen in the patriot balls at halftime. Again the original report of 11/12 balls being down 2 PSI was proven FALSE.

your assertion that "no one knows what happened in the locker room" is fallacious, ignorant, and shows you haven't read anything about this event other than clinging to the lies fed to you by the NFL. It also shows you have no argument because that statement, itself, means absolutely nothing. The funniest thing is, all the answers that prove that no tampering happened are reported IN the Pash/Wells report. The Pash/Wells report says ITSELF that there was NO TAMPERING. The PSI levels THEY RECORDED are taken into account by the ideal gas law.

Sorry, but what, specifically, have I said in this thread which is "delusional"? Happy to discuss any of my points further.

I never said you in particular, since I don't think you said that everyone is jealous of the Patriots success, nor I don't believe that you advocated the murder of the NFL commissioner.

Yep.
Thats what I get for trusting a Facebook article :p. I still believe there was at least some foul play here, but thats based on no more fact than someone who claims innocence. The whole situation just needs to go away at this point tbh.

As a Bengals fan, I still believe we'll take the division. They were injury plagued last year and that really gave them no chance in the playoff game (no AJ Green, Marvin Jones, Eifert, Gresham, LBs were decimated). The return of Michael Johnson will help the D line and pass rush. They just have to get over that first playoff game hump and I think they could be contenders to reach and possibly win the Super Bowl. I think the offense has the talent to be really good, Dalton just has to step it up and not turn the ball over, which I still think he could.

dude I'm over this already. I'm on to the football season. check out my predictions and lets talk about that

You could be right, admittedly I haven't really read up on the bengals much this offseason. It's going to be one of the most competitive divisions for sure.

hahahahaha. What other outlandish conspiracy theories are you going to trot out next? Belichick is responsible for 9/11? He's so far in your head, it's hilarious.

you have nothing either

except science. can't let that pesky science get in the way.

  1. Patriot fans are delusional.

The only delusion is the haters who ignore science like climate change or evolution deniers.

Murder, no. Immediate firing and replacement with someone more competent, like a fruit fly, yes.

I hope I'm right :p. It seems like we always find a way to choke but we have the talent there to do it. All of the players seem to be more locked in this offseason just based on interviews. We shall see. :)

Folks,

Deflategate is over like bigjnyc and the entire sports press has reported and I don't get that this forum knows that, and the Jets-Pats rivalry is just one part of football. And it's often not a rivalry when the Jets are hot or the Pats are hot, but rarely does that happen at the same time so nothing to see here.

Do you want to follow a rivalry, the look to see Eagles or Cowboys going at it where one game could make the difference, or Niners versus Seahawks, or Steelers versus Ravens, or many other contests that are toss ups.

What do you think the rest of the league is up to?

Damn right it's over. Berman skewered the league. Thursday's ruling felt like winning the Super Bowl all over again. It was ****ing glorious, and I can't wait for the banner ceremony this Thursday. It's going to be the most epic night in the history of Foxboro, MA.

Just like winning the Super Bowl over again..LOL

That's about right.

The reason NE won the Super Bowl is because Seattle made the dumb play of the century .

It's a good analogy.

I guess that west coast drought is making the grapes sour out there?? :p

NE won after Brady led them on two clutch 4th quarter touchdown drives, becoming the first team in NFL history to come back from 10+ points down in the 4th quarter of a Super Bowl to win, against what everyone said was one of the best defenses in NFL history.

The Butler interception sealed it, but that play doesn't even happen if Kearse didn't make that amazing but extremely lucky catch to begin with.
