Denver's defense manhandled and exposed the Patriots pitiful offensive line and that ended up being the biggest difference today.

Brady was sacked 4 times, managed to somehow get the ball out as he was being tackled at least 3 other times, and hurried many more times. The Broncos defense played it just the way they needed to.

Now if the Broncos are wily, they, as the "home" team, will choose to wear white, just to put the Panthers off balance.

Pretty much. The fact that the Pats OL couldn't stop Denvers pass rush when they were only rushing 3/4 guys is what won the game for Denver. It kept Brady off his game and still allowed them to drop 7 or 8 guys back in coverage.

The media kept talking it up about the Patriots offense being "healthy" (referring to Gronk and Edelman) but kept ignoring the Pats offensive line issues. It's been a problem all year and they got exposed big time.

Pats D played better than expected and held the Denver offense in check for the most part. Cant say they didn't give the Pats O enough chances. Oh well, there's always next year.

Yeah, I had a feeling that chicken was going to come home to roost. Brady was hit more times in this game than any QB in any game in ten years or so. (Aside: no RTP calls on Denver - which I have no problem with - but can we please give up on the narrative that there's a flag any time Brady gets hit?) Right now I'd think Solder going on IR was one of the biggest injuries for the Patriots - and this year, that's saying something.

Patriots fans grossly overlooked the Denver defense. A great defense will always trump a good offense and Patriots fans should know that better than anyone.

Not sure why everyone thought that New England was just going to walk into Denver and just run off with the game when Brady has a losing record against Denver.

i did.

DEN D won that game. And...

Solder and both the starting running backs. Lewis and Blount could have helped yesterday for sure. A one dimensional attack against a defensive line that good isn't going to end very well.

Brady's ass sure looked sore with it being on the ground most of the game.

Yes, Brady got knocked around a lot. But the game wasn't an "ass beating" by any stretch, unless you specifically mean the Denver D-line against the NE O-line.

EDIT: and at the risk of belaboring a point, we all know what the storyline would be today if the game had been in New England, the Patriots had won, and the Denver tablets had all stopped working mid-game. Would be nice if the tinfoil hat crowd would realize there are glitches all the time in these games.

I don't think the Broncos are going to allow a defense to dominate them the way it was in the Super Bowl two years ago.

I think the Broncos will play a controlled, time sucking game and hope their defense keeps Newton in check.

Denver over the Panthers by less than a touchdown and hopefully one of the classic Super Bowls of all time which should give thanks most to the defenses of both teams. There will be more running than expected on Super Bowl Sunday. Manning is not going to air it out with his apparent inability to solidly plant his feet and after seeing the game against the Patriots, the Panthers will also keep the passes to a minimum and avoid interceptions. Though a win, 17 for 32 and only 176 yards was not exactly a typical Manning game.

I hope Manning's plantar issues are better in two weeks. There were some passes he just couldn't make and I think it wasn't all about the Patriots having an extraordinary defense even though they played well. For the Super Bowl, Manning will likely also get less than 200 yards so the Broncos will have to run it successfully which I think they can do.

If you don't like me dancing in the end zone keep me out of it.

---- Cam Newton.

I see a chance of Carolina becoming another serious threat in the NFC for some time into the future like Seattle and Green Bay. Maybe Arizona will be a yearly threat, too. I am hoping 49ers with new running quarterback strategy coach could make San Francisco viable again.

The previous threats were the Steelers, the Patriots, and the Broncos but age has caught up to them. This could be the Broncos last, real attempt at a Super Bowl. For Denver's sake I hope they have Peyton's plantar issue in mind and work with that. I don't see him making pinpoint long passes.

Our local media covered the Cardinals' return home, where the team was greeted by their fans. According to the story, literally both of them.

All the outrage over Cam Newton makes zero sense to me. A lot of people think it's racism. I hope they're wrong. But I don't get why something like this would even happen.

That's a pretty stupid thing to start as it'll accomplish nothing, but many dislike Newton because of his blatant arrogance and showboating. Oh, and he does stuff like this on the regular: http://abc11.com/1075926/

But you're right, it might just be racism.
