It was great. I was really happy they continued to show the feed in this era of political correctness on TV. I would have liked to see Nico's toss back to have some anger or determination in it. Instead, it seemed like the toss was what a 5 year old does when he doesn't get his way - then an hour later he's happy and jolly again.
I didn't really get that. They're just fooling around. Who really cares? F1 is a mentally and physically strenuous activity. They probably all aren't thinking straight at that moment.

So I have to confess I missed most of yesterday's race. Highlights started at 10:30, and I'm afraid I missed most of it due to falling asleep!
I read the report and I'm surprised Vettel crashed out due to drivers error.
Also anybody think Mercedes will back Rosburg for the rest of the season?
Not sure that's the best way to secure the championship next year.

For whatever reason, the Ferraris were just out-classed on that track and Vettel was on the ragged-edge trying to wring reasonable performance out of it.

Was anyone else really impressed by Mexico? I thought the organizers did a great job. The atmosphere looked incredible and I love how they planned out the podium. No one has capitalized on the podium the way Mexico has thus far.

As far as the race... meh. Maybe we were spoiled by Austin but there wasn't too much excitement - I tuned out to do other things multiple times. Without the Ferrari's, there is absolutely nothing going on at the front. It actually wouldn't be so bad if Rosberg can clean up his act and challenge Hamilton next year.

I expect the nice weather played a role as all the forecasts guaranteed rain so I imagine most teams had their cars set up for a wet race and extremely slick conditions based on how the track was in FP1. A number of cars seemed to be struggling with rear brake performance from the KERS harvesting and combined with the lower downforce due to the altitude, that made them a fair bit more skittish.

I got the impression Mercedes helped Nico in Mexico but I think it was a positive move. Tensions have grown in the team of late and Nico I would imagine by his own omission would agree he hasn't performed the best. He needed a win and Mercedes appeared to prevent Lewis going longer on tyres that he felt comfortable with. Nico drove superbly though and hopefully he'll keep it into next season as we need a challenge for lewis if Ferrari can't deliver.

That's not what gave Nico the win. What gave Nico the win was Mercedes not putting Lewis on soft tires with only 22 laps left and light fuel when Nico pitted and put on mediums. The difference in pace between the tires, and the fact they went 27 laps on heavy fuel, should have made that a no-brainer.

So looks like Red Bull (and, I presume, Toro Rosso) is (are) going to use Renault ICEs (Internal Combustion Engines) that have been massaged by Mario Illien (of Ilmor) and branded as Infiniti with their own design of ERS (Energy Recovery System - aka KERS) starting next year.

I don't believe there was much choice. Mercedes said no, McLaren blocked Honda and Ferrari offered an older model.

Apparently Lewis Hamilton is arriving a day late to Brazil as he had a minor car accident in Monaco. I wonder if the guy that hit him was called Nico! :D

Wrote off his zonda lol

A spokesman for Monaco’s Palais de Justice said: “Mr Hamilton’s foot slipped on the brake and clutch pedals and his vehicle struck three parked cars. He was tested for alcohol but the result was negative.”

Was that really the Zonda? They made it seem like no big deal, minor accident - and of course no alcohol involved even though he blamed it on his partying. Really he could have been completely intoxicated and they wouldn't hang him out to dry in Monaco. Here's the Zonda when it had better days :D

Well I'm afraid that wasn't a great race. A couple of great passes from Max. Other than that, if you haven't seen it yet do yourself a favour and skip it.
The race was decided on Saturday when Nico got pole. Now he has secured second place in the championship, it will be interesting to see if the momentum stays with him.
