Bradford wants out of Philadelphia. If I were Bradford and with all the money he's already made, I would absolutely take a pay cut to play on the Broncos that have weapons on offense and defense. This would be the ideal team to see if Bradford is the QB everyone thought he would be.

a steep paycut probably, nobody wants a fragile QB with an $18 Million contract. I'm not sure what he's thinking here, even if the eagles draft their starter Bradford's been getting paid to not play his whole career and should be comfortable with that at this point.

I guess that can work both ways. Bradford could sit and just collect his hefty paycheque or he could go somewhere and make similar money (probably less) and play without the pressure that he needs to become a Pro Bowl player in order to make money. No matter how good or bad you are, you never want to just sit. But even if he had to take a 50% cut or more, say he breaks out, he could easily make that back with a new contract. Bradford is actually in a good position. He has nothing to really lose and everything to gain both for the money and as a player.

The problem is that there aren't too many teams in the league with no QB where he would be in a position to excel. most good competitive teams have one thing in common.. A franchise QB. the Broncos are in a rare situation and so that's the only landing spot where he could go, play well and parlay that in to a bigger contract.

Some good news on a Monday! :) As much as that idiot Goddell bungled the whole thing the good guys win in the end.

They Courts did not say Goodell was right, only that he didn't over step his authority. I still think Goodell is a idiot and his punishment did not fit the crime. It should have only been a one game suspension. Since it occurred during a playoff game, Brady should be suspended for one playoff game.;)

Maybe the Jets. But other than them and the Broncos, I agree with you - any of the other 29 teams, Bradford would be in a similar situation but potentially making less. If the the price is right (that's a big if), I don't see the harm in the Broncos and/or Jets seeing what it would take to get Bradford. The Jets and Fitzpatrick don't seem close to a deal and the Broncos are still trying to find a QB. By getting Bradford, you're getting a somewhat known commodity vs. drafting (reaching?) for a QB that's not named Wentz or Goff.

How could you be surprised, this is the only team with so many scandals and gates associated with it in a span of 10 years in the history of the NFL.

You can write anything enough and people will believe it to be true.

Welcome to the NFL. Where everything is made up and the facts don't matter.

I agree.

With the 7th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select DE DeForest Buckner of Oregon!!!!!!!!

Looks like he's getting his wish with Philly drafting a QB in the first round.

Not necessarily. Bradford wanting out of Philadelphia was a result of the Eagles trading up to the two spot to draft a QB prior tonight. As for Bradford, Eagles had/have put a high price tag on him so a trade isn't going to be likely or won't happen anytime soon.

As for tonight's draft, there were a few surprises like none of the Alabama players were drafted in the first round.

Ok. I'm confused. If Philly wasn't thinking about trading him why did they use the #2 pick for a QB ?

Trying to drive up his value. If they're willing to go into the season with him on their roster, they hold all the cards.

I think the plan has always been to go into the season with Wentz and Bradford.

Difficult one for the Dolphins last night - when a talent like Laremy Tunsil falls to you at #13, do you pick him and sort out the issues afterwards or just steer clear like Baltimore and a few other teams did? Talent is there, I am just hoping he doesn't turn out to be Dion Jordan v.2

I was reminded of a similar highly rated player who fell a long way to the Dolphins due to allegations of drug abuse. The player? Dan Marino. Let's hope history repeats itself :)

It's an easy sell when you consider the talent level. Teams have justified much worse with the "it helps my team win" excuse.

I think that's the way I feel about it today - I'm happy to give Tunsil the benefit of the doubt as long as he keeps Tannehill upright in the pocket.

Pretty sure the Hickey and Philbin administration, with their 'high character' players, would not have sanctioned this pick.

It's a fantastic pick. Many had him going as high as 3. If he's smart, Tunsil will be squeaky clean for a season and we'll all forget this.

What a bizzare little scandal right before the draft that was. I wonder who would try to sabotage him like that? posting that video on his twitter. It's obvious that this kid has some personal issues if someone had a vendetta against him bad enough to do that. Some people speculate that it could be his step father who sued him a few weeks back for assaulting him, I would have steered clear of this kid no matter the talent.

It is a good pick for the Dolphins, and hopefully they will keep a close eye on him. I heard that the video may have been from a few years ago, so hopefully he has put this stuff behind him and doesn't go down the same road as Johnny Manzel.

Reports are trickling in that it might have been his stepfather, either for revenge or blackmail. It still may be speculation but there seems to be some legs to the stepfather connection.

Say what you want about Bradford, but he still is the best option the Eagles have at QB. But with that said, from an Eagles perspective, it's all about money. They had it so they spent it. Paying Bradford that extension was nothing more than a stopgap. By having both Wentz (or Goff depending on how the Rams drafted) and Bradford, the Eagles aren't forced into a decision. Bradford has the experience but if he underperforms, the Eagles could always put in the QB they drafted (Wentz). So like @AustinIllini stated, it's all about controlling your pieces. Ultimately, Wentz is the future which is why Bradford wanted out because he knew regardless of how he performs, he's gone unless he wins a Super Bowl.
