I'm irritated by Brock leaving, and I hear they are thinking of Kaepernick. God I don't want to get Kaepernick, I can't stand him. He's a decent player but his attitude is crap.

Meanwhile the Olivier Vernon deal just screwed the DE market for years.

Yup and I'm glad that the Rams signed/extended Robert Quinn through 2020 before his rookie contract expired. If he had hit FA, likely would've cost the Rams a whole lot more than what the Giants paid Vernon since Vernon's resume doesn't even compare to Quinn's.

Reports are that he was salty about being benched which is mind boggling given the situation and outcome we were all expecting.
That's what I thought was one of the reasons.

4 years, $72 million. THat's crazy.
Definitely overpaid, but now that more likely drives Fitzpatrick's value up. The Jets should have extended his contract when they had a chance. Now who do they have Geno Smith?

Sean Smith signed 4-year/$40 million contract with the Raiders.

That is significantly less than what Janoris Jenkins. Many thought that Smith would get something close to what Jenkins got, if not higher. Interesting that the Rams had no interest in Smith if that was his asking price.

Absolutely not. Ryan Fitzpatrick isn't a long term answer and he's also 8 years older than Brock Osweiler.

I understand he's not a long term solution, but I do think Osweiler's and Bradford's contracts have driven up his value. When Bradford is getting nearly 20 million, and he's not really shown to be durable, Osweiler his still largely unproven and his numbers are no better then Hoyer's. He's in driver's seat at this point in terms of where he goes and how much he'll get.

Yeah, the Jets blew it by not signing him immediately after the season ended. Reward the man for one of the best QB performances ever by a Jet. The last thing I want to see is Geno under center.

Kaepernick wants to play for the Browns. Guys, he wants to play for the Browns. In what world would you rather pick a significantly inferior team over a team that just won the Super Bowl? I just don't get this years free agency. Did Denver or John Elway do something to offend everyone?

If Kaepernick does sign with the Browns, I think this more about Kap thinking he's the best thing to happen to the Browns and his job security is pretty safe vs. going to Denver and not being able to get 10+ wins, his job might be questioned because I don't care if Peyton's shadow is still there, if I were a QB and had an opportunity to take over a team like the Denver Broncos, I'd jump on it in a heartbeat.

If Kaepernick does sign with the Browns,
Its more if SF trades him to the browns, since they hadn't cut him (AFAIK).

I agree with you regarding Kap on wanting to go to the Browns, Denver is a much better organization and team where he'd be more likely to succeed and rehabilitate his faltering career.

Mark Sanchez to the Broncos... Which only means that he'll win a Superbowl next year and add to the misery of being a Jets fan :(

Maybe with last years defense but next year, not too sure.

I'm actually surprised that getting a deal with Fitzpatrick is taking as long as it is. I thought it was a formality that he would go back to the Jets (he's not that young anymore) but with everything that has happened in FA this year, I guess anything can happen. Heck, Fitzpatrick goes back to the team that drafted him, the Rams?

I would say we still don't.:(

Well Sanchez did take the Jets to 2 straight AFC championship games when the Jets had a great defense and a few weapons on Offense.... it was only when the jets dismantled all of their skill position players that he really struggled. but who can blame him, the Jets didn't have anyone who could get open to save their lives..... Broncos have plenty of weapons on offense and they have an amazing defense, I wouldnt just write this off as a mistake, Elway has been a great GM and knows what he's doing.

Agreed. People are assuming that Elway got Sanchez to be a pocket QB like Manning, Brady, Brees and Rodgers. Everyone knows that's not even close to why Elway traded for him. 2 straight AFC Championships right after being drafted behind a defense which was arguably not as good as what the Broncos had. Denver might have lost a few pieces but the idea is that Elway still believes he can build a solid defense to at least make the playoffs. All Sanchez has to do manage the game. Elway is putting Sanchez in a position to succeed and is not relying on him to pass for 3,500 yards and 25-30 TD's.

I expect them to find a QB by some other means, because Sanchez isn't it.

I'm sure Elway and the Broncos aren't resting their season and post-season on Sanchez but with nothing available, Sanchez is at the very least serviceable especially with the system currently in place. They'll look for a QB but if they still don't find a suitable QB, you know what you're getting with Sanchez.
