I wonder if Fitzpatrick is pricing himself out of the market.

He's a Harvard grad, so he's a smart fella, though I think he misjudged the market.I don't really blame him. At his age, this is going to be his last contact so he's going to try and get the most money. Will it work? Who knows but as we get closer to the draft and teams are going to their back up plans, Fitzpatrick slowly loses out.
Cutler was the Bears' best player last year. I'll pass.Cheer up. Denver might get desperate enough to take Cutler back.

Agreed, though I don't think real progress will be made until the next CBA is hammered out. I think the NFLPA really messed up, by not forcing the issue during the last CBA negotiation.Given the extent to which he's mishandled this over the years, I hope they get something worked out,
I agree. (former Colorado resident here) But, Mark Sanchez? Really? Was he the best QB available that fit into Elway's payroll? Sheesh!I hope that never happens. I was quite happy to see him leave Denver.

RBs are having a tough time of it lately, other than Peterson and perhaps Gurley, they are almost becoming an afterthought. It is becoming almost impossible to be a standout RB in the NFL these days and get paid.

This. Like I keep telling people, Sanchez has playoff experience, and quite frankly, on available QBs right now, there's slim pickings. Hopefully Sanchez can do something at least decent. Manning played decent at best his last season, if Denver still has a formidable defense and Sanchez plays at least better than Manning, I could see us at least getting far in the playoffs.I thought it was a great move by elway
- you got an experienced QB for practically nothing (7th round pick) and only paying him 4.5mil
- you give yourself some leverage when negotiating with free agent QBs and other teams, you don't look as desperate when you at least have a viable QB on the roster
- and if they don't land anyone then hey you can do worst than a guy with playoff experience who is mobile and will have the benefit of a great defense putting him in ideal field positions
But hey what do I know, I'm not the former Super Bowl winning QB turned GM who put together a team that's gone to 2 Super Bowls in the last 4 years
There's a statement I never could have imagined. I like Sanchez, think he's a decent QB, and wish him the best in Denver.if ... Sanchez plays at least better than Manning...

The issue is, that since coming to the pros (for the most part), he's been an awful quarterback. Perhaps under the proper tutelage he'd flourish but people were saying that under Chip Kelly's offense and that didn't occurI thought it was a great move by elway
