It really looks good :D

I prefer the silver one though !
I dithered back and forth between silver and space grey, the former having always been my default preference. But then I realized that the keyboard is the same colour (black) in both cases. Therefore, I ordered the space grey. I think the black keyboard looks better with the darker colour. Had the keyboard in the silver model been white, I'd have gone for it.

I had to switch my credit card because my debit card was declined by the bank. But it got charged and is now being processed again. Can't wait for shipment!!

I was in the same boat as you but because I am also a ditherer I ordered both... [silver to arrive later so can cancel it if I love the space grey] The keyboard definitely looks better with the darker colour and I figured the touch bar will also. I have a combination of silver and space grey stuff already plus the black phone so all should work together.

I feel the silver has a more jewel like quality and the space grey is slicker.

Anyway, can't wait for next week - should be here :)

I preordered a BTO 15" Space Grey from BH Photo because apple cancelled my original order as I was shipping to a freight forwarder address. My question is: Does anyone have any experience pre ordering from B&H? When will they probably receive the devices?

On the B&H train, too, for a 15" w/ the 460 GPU. Apparently at least some third-party orders will start shipping around November 17.

But Apple's power adaptor, cables, and dongles are white! There's no winning if you want consistency.

I think we've been more than patient at this point. 2 years since an update, a month until they say our computers will ship, and now 4 days since we've been charged with nothing to show for it.

They gave you dates: 17th-25th. Don't start complaining til then.

I think white dongles will look better with space grey, to be honest.

No kidding. Sheesh. I get being excited because pre-orders frequently deliver ahead of schedule (unless there's a firm launch date). But feeling 'entitled' to receive the product earlier than the manufacturer said you would is maybe a bit much.

I'm fully bilingual in French/English so here's a quick translation of the video from 01netTV...

Here is the new MacBook Pro with the main innovation: the contextually aware Touch Bar. Watch and we'll show you what it consists of.
So they removed the entire first row of buttons on the keyboard to replace it with a touch screen - an OLED screen - which could show contextually aware keys [???] It has a matte screen and is very bright.
For example, you could be in an email or writing a text and you can access the functions of bolding text or making it italic and of course access the famous emojis which we already know from iPhone!
One interesting feature is what concerns photos and the Photo app on macOS 10. We have on the Touch Bar a sort of slider which allows us to scroll through the images and we also have access to editing and cropping features, among others. A whole bunch of features which used to be on the screen can now also be found on this touch bar.
For example, in a session of Garageband - an application to create music - different functions will appear depending on the context.
[MUSIC]
For video purposes Apple is also showing off their Touch Bar since while editing you can slide through the timeline on the Touch Bar which allows for space on the screen to be freed up.
So what we've seen here are Apple's applications which, natively, are compatible with the Touch Bar, logically. There are more than 30 - 33 to be exact - but Apple announced that other applications such as Photoshop or Office from Microsoft will be compatible with this bar.
So you ask yourself, "Great! But what happened to the traditional function keys F1, F2,..." because once in a while we still end up using them and it's very simple: all it takes is to press on the "Fn" key to have the traditional F keys reappear.
And look, the mechanical escape key also got removed and is replaced by a touchable key on the Touch Bar.
What's really amazing is how we can configure this Touch Bar: we can show all the available functions on the screen and it's a simple "drag and drop" to add functions, remove others we don't need, move them around, etc.

So this is Touch Bar. It's a real technological innovation that we see but will it really give us extra comfort and ease or is it simply a 'nice gadget'? More tests and practical use will need to be done in detail to answer this question. We are already questioning this since normally when we use a laptop on a regular day we have our eyes on the screen and not really on the keyboard so you'd need to lower your look/eyes a bit to see the Touch Bar even though it was placed on the top of the keyboard, somewhat within our peripheral view.
The real question is will the Touch Bar allow us to be faster and more performant/efficient in the applications we use daily, this we will see with time and usage.

This was the best I could do - hope it helps! Basically he is mainly taking about the Touch Bar and not the actual design of the laptop, battery, weight, etc.

It's going to be amazing if Apple starts shipping new products earlier than 4+ weeks after announcement. AirPods were announced September 7

My earliest delivery date, within my delivery window is in 6 days. If they are coming from China and it takes about 3 days to get them here from there, I would guess we could start seeing movement tomorrow or Friday, but at least by Sunday.

Had the same issue at first. But I decided I would stick with Silver. Darker Apple devices tend to show scuffs/scratches and smudges easier - Owned many. If that doesn't bother you then it doesn't really matter. Also something about there no longer being a space grey iPhone really bugs me with their colour inconsistency. I would have preferred they released a matte black, if they wanted to go dark. :D

This just proves again that you order from best buy. They get their info updated before apple does with Macs. It blows my mind.

Could you take a screenshot of the email from BB? I ordered the same model, except from Apple, within minutes of the store going back online.

I posted the best buy link right below the post I am quoting. You can order right now and have it 11/16 from BB.

The 2-3 week bunch could still quite feasibly arrive on or before the 16th straight from Apple.

true. It is just frustrating when a 3rd party is more transparent.

Below that it list my order as a "shipped item" and arriving by 11/16.

Do you actually have any tracking information yet?

no tracking yet, but I bet I wake up to one. That is how it went last year. I mentioned earlier that I ordered through both apple and best buy with the rMB, and the best buy order came weeks before the apple one. I think with their laptops they fulfill their 3rd party retailers first and then customers.

The rMB stock was so low and that is why people who ordered from best buy or even went in store at Best Buy got them before apple orders.

Stopped by the Apple Store to try the new non Touch Bar MBP.

The keyboard and the removal of the plastic strip along the hinge make it feel and look so much better.

The trackpad on the old MBP looks cramped in comparison.

Can't wait!

Nice, my earliest delivery date is 11/15. What method did your Best Buy order ship via last year? Have you tried looking up your tracking with that carrier?
