As I said I'm a college student, and don't wanna stand out too much either. I just feel like the silver is more classic. I have a space grey iPad Pro as well so I don't know if getting the silver would cause some OCD attacks on my end.

The reason I went with Space Grey was because the Apple Logo on the back looks black and stands out opposed to the silver MacBook Pro's logo. Totally OCD, I know.

Don't ever be afraid to stand out. Some people have to work very hard to stand out. I wish I could talk to my younger self to stop being so shy about stuff.

Okay I think just telling myself that it will match my iPad and my jet black iPhone will be enough to stick with the space grey. Thanks guys

And eventually the others in college will be upgrading and I'm sure Space grey will be the most popular when they have options. So kinda future proofing myself too.

It doesn't stand out in a bad way. If anything it blends more than silver. The lack of a lit up apple logo will turn heads.

If only there was a 15 inch rose gold.

Oh god

Not to mention just the fact that it is so large will turn heads. The whole reason I got this computer was because of its size. I had a 15" pro throughout high school - when I didn't need to bring it to class - and waited to get a smaller computer until the pro was updated.

Is it a case of having them already in the USA (as an example) and then shipping notices, or are they tracked from China?

As I recall, i've seen both (could be mistaken)

Would it be a good idea to cancel my Apple order and order from Best Buy instead? I get that $150 education discount through Apple though... I ordered the 15" stock from Apple. Best Buy has it listed as "get it by 11/16" for both 13" and 15"

Your right, I just went there. They are really on the ball, no? So much for a delay. No store pickup though, which is a bit odd. Free shipping. As far as canceling your order, your going to have to make that call. Depends. If Apple says 3 weeks, no reason to think it will be sooner, even if it is. Best Buy, on the other hand, isn't know to jerk you around.

I'm perfectly happy with the 8gb but am still hesitating ordering with bestbuy. What would u guys do? I have a 15-22 delivery date.

I am hesitating too. My delivery date is Nov. 25 - Dec. 2... I'm scared to order with BestBuy and then they not fulfill their promise and push me off further than what my date with Apple is.

Personally, I wouldn't cancel my Apple order. Apple almost always either hits or beats their delivery estimates for newly released products. My son got a Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus with a November 16 delivery date, he got it in 2nd week of October.

It seems like for every hour after the keynote, it's taking about a day longer to charge the order. So, those of us who stupidly waited until about 11pm pacific to place their order, and got 3-4 weeks, will need to wait about 7 days longer to see the charge, vs. those who put their order in sooner.

At least, for the first day, each hour of sales is taking Apple an entire day (at least) to produce. Not too shabby...

Yea it really doesn't make sense. There is way that Apple and bestbuy are estimating delivery dates over a month apart for the exact same product.

Exactly. Almost seems too good to be true. I guess I'll just stick with my Apple order and education discount. Maybe those of us in the 3-4 week window will be lucky.

Could be that BestBuy has a deal to buy X computers from apple and they haven't received that many orders yet.

Very unlikely. In past releases, Best Buy has had a shipping estimate quite similar with that of Apple. And most people like to purchase their products at Best Buy, as they do get 45 days to return if they are a prime member.

People's shock at third parties having stock when Apple doesn't is misplaced.

Retailers like Best Buy will account for a huge amount of Apple's sales and it would be ridiculous to shun your best retail partners at times of peak demand - i.e. product launches!

As such it is very common for resellers to have stock when Apple doesn't.
