For those who have to wait until december for shipment, why not just get it in stores when they will be here earlier like next week?

Hong Kong no PFS yet either. I think they are shipping the US ones first as they will take longer to arrive.
My delivery date is 14-21, which is Monday.
Hopefully I will get it on Monday as I am leaving on a business trip for 1 month on Tuesday
Apple is telling everyone different things. Some hinted that the MBP would be in store as early as tomorrow ("big shipment") but others are saying that online orders are priority, 4-5 weeks minimum.
My bto is mid december, if they're in stores I'll cancel and just go with one of the stock units.
Where are you (as in, country)? I was just notified by my place of work that I can pre-order and get one guaranteed by the end of November (all models, all colors). I imagine this means 3rd party retailers will have a large surplus of them, even if the actual Apple stores sell out.
My order has been saying pick up in store on 23 Nov since day one. For a bto 15 inch space grey. Is this likely to change?
Do you mean pre-order through your work? How are they able to secure you one 100% before December?
Correct, I'm not sure how they are able to do that (I'm in academia). I ordered through Apple because my work doesn't allow pre-orders for BTO, however.

Replying to my own post to note that expediting shipping did NOT seem to negatively affect shipping, contrary to rumors.
Rumors said that expedited shipping would NOT positively affect shipping [because all pre-orders are already expedited].
No movement at all for me... no charge to my debit card, no change to PFS...

Anyone got any movement? I ordered as soon as they went up on the Apple Store after the keynote (pretty sure one of the first orders) for the maxed out (1TB SSD tho) 15". I've got a 2-3 shipment estimate and 17-24 delivery window.
PayPal Credit is my method of payment and I've got the charge pending since my order got into processing items phase.
Anyone got anything? So far it seems like only North American orders are moving

Nope, nobody outside of US and Asia hasn't seen an update in creditcard charge or status update.
No movement whatsoever. Delivery is 16-23 and ordered as soon as the store was back again. 13 inch SG BTO
Seems that if you live outside of North America, Apple will 'get to your order when they can'... As it is now after 7pm Friday here, I doubt I'll see any change before Monday at the earliest... So I also doubt that I'll see my 15" BTO (Base 15 with 512 SSD) before Friday next week.
Hopefully they will start to collect MBP's for people outside US today, so some in EU and/or Asia will see a P4S status change. Hopefully. A discrepancy of two full days between US and the rest of the world for P4S would be mildly annoying, IMHO.
