Yes, and the m3 powered MacBook can run photoshop as well. FYI...

Obviously if you're doing extreme heavy Photoshop work a high powered machine is what you would want, but even with fairly taxing work you don't need that great of specs to work with Photoshop. A m3 MacBook I don't have experience with so I cannot speak on, but to say the entry level MBP can't handle Photoshop work is silly.

Ordered 27th October. (Canadian dollars)

This time, also added Apple Care. Haven't done that with previous purchases, but $3K+ is a lot of money to pay out for a device without an extended warranty.

Considering how many people here said goodbye Apple after the keynote, I'm surprised to see so many orders.

I justify the purchase based on my experience of how long a Mac computer (and other devices) lasts - far beyond any PC I've owned previously. My mid-2007 mini is still functioning well sans the issue that it cannot be upgraded beyond OS X Lion. That makes the work I do online increasingly problematic. So…, I could not wait any longer for a decent mini upgrade - and suspect now that the mini is going to be retired.

First ever Mac on its way for me and only my second ever Apple product. Gone for the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar in Silver, £1,312 with student discount which I've managed to wangle.

Delivers 6th - 12th December :(:(:(

We all were.

Painful as it is, Moving to 6700HQ was the right move to set the stage for Kaby Lake. Apple can't hold onto Iris Pro forever, especially if Intel really just doesn't want to deal with it.

Yep, from Intel's roadmap its quite clear that due to little adoption, Intel is pretty much abandoning Iris Pro. Back to dGPUs in all models like before.

Nah, don't believe the hype, the mini wont be retired, Mac Pro too. But yes, no matter how expensive they are initially, they really do pay off. No other company provides that kind of quality, user experience and durability.

Is there anyone that know how big the performance diffrence is between the 2.6, 2.7 and 2.9 ghz skylake cpus in the 15 inch MBP? I am hesitating about buying the 2.9 or the 2.6 ghz cpu. I am suspecting that the 2.9 ghz could throttle alot and get really hot.

I looked up some Geekbench scores. Basically every step up gives you ≈8% in single core and ≈10% in multi core. 2.6GHz one has only 6MB of L3 cache, 2.7 and 2.9 have 8MB. I don't know if that would really makes a difference in real world use.

So before I ordered I double-checked which one I ordered because I didn't see that it said "Space Gray 15" MacBook Pro before I clicked Buy now. But I remember the color Space gray is selected by default when you begin. So..that's good! But I was a bit worried first.
Incredibly annoying! Had to redo the order twice just to make sure, and still haven't gotten a confirmation on the actual color. Well. Obviously a little bit tense over finally upgrading from a mid-2010 mbp...

Hmm... Perhaps its best to wait until a few reviews gets out. I have bad experience with earlier MBP:s throttling alot, due to the new slimmer unibody chassi, getting the 2.9 ghz CPU might be like begging for future stutters and freeze problems.

Apple are broke and need your cash in advance, 200 billion is not enough

They can't spend it though can they?
If they bring the cash back to America they'all have to pay tax...it's quite funny.

Hi All,

I've created a Google Docs spreadsheet which can be edited by all so we can add our orders and compare progress:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WLB7Tqsyvettq9VYCBR-S5D7AzcCMPEZpMhaGa2cFsM/edit?usp=sharing

Please add your order to the spreadsheet and update when your order changes status! That will then give those of us waiting an idea as to whether orders are shipping early.

Back in 2013 when ordering a Mac Pro, I did the same thing and the spreadsheet was very popular with a couple of hundred people adding their order details.

Thanks!

Are you really? I mean think about it; are you really?

I've been hearing this song for YEARS. It's not without merit, I'll admit. But people have been saying that Apple is an "iPod company not a pro company anymore" or "they only care about shiny colorful iMacs" and so on and so forth. For the last two decades.

Apple cut the iPhone 7's headphone jack "Nobody will buy them! This is the undoing of Apple!" No more 4" screen size "the undoing of Apple!", and yet all of these devices, consistently, sell out. Now the cheap, easy, no-critical-thinking-necessary response is "Sheeple sheeple sheeple" and claim that everyones a moron and buys it just because it has an Apple logo. Bias is real and there definitely are people with more money than sense who will buy ANYTHING with an Apple logo on it.

BUT; there's also the reality that, like it or not; Apple knows what sells. It's why they are ridiculously successful. Instead of chasing niche customers and enthusiasts (mainstream customers don't get on an internet messageboard to talk about their computers. MacRumors, Reddit, et al is not an accurate cross-section of Apple's consumerbase), Apple goes for the "target rich environment" and scores everytime. They'll sell out like they do with everything else.

Right or wrong I'm not arguing. Good or bad, I'm not arguing. Have they forgotten pro users? Well, I think I first heard that in 1998 and have consistently heard it ever since (you can just search this forum and find YEARS worth of "This officially marks Apple no longer caring about pro customers" threads). But, maybe this time it's "for real". Maybe? Maybe not. But the fact remains, it's gonna sell. People aren't going to boycott. In fact, people are going to buy them, love them, and buy them again. And Apple will continue to make tremendous amounts of money to the chagrin and bewilderment of it's competitors, and even it's formerly loyal fans who feel left behind by the newer generation of hardware.

Finally recovered from missing the waiting for skylake thread...

...because of the OS primarily...the 'niche customers' will move where they're best served, apple or elsewhere...the majority will want to buy apple because of 'the kudos'...created, on the whole, by the ' niche customers'...

I basically used a friends' UNiDAYS account and that's how much it was in the education store! It was £1,574 (original price is £1,749), that £1,300 is without VAT.
