I'm chatting with UPS right now to have the delivery changed to my work address. They're telling me Apple put a restriction on the shipment where the delivery address can't be changed. However, I was able to get them to hold the package at the customer center, so I can go pick it up right after work. If anyone else has problems getting their delivery address changed, contact UPS to see if you can just go pick it up instead.
I was able to change mine online to deliver to the local UPS distribution center after it left Shanghai this morning.

I'm same exact as you (down to the minute with scan times, etc). Our laptops are definitely in the same crate. Whats the specs of yours/ where is it headed? I can't help but feel getting stuck with FedEx screwed us over.
Actually I kinda blame Apple on this one. I felt like if I was on Fedex Express then I would be on 90 but i'm on economy.
Maxed-out spec: 2TB 460 and everything, with British keyboard. Heading to NH, US (east coast).

Anyone else in the same boat as me? Ordered the 13" Touch Bar base model about 30 minutes after they went on sale. Status changed to shipped yesterday morning around 9 AM CST. Was given a UPS tracking number, but as of a few minutes ago it is still not in UPS's system.

Quick update--My machine just popped up on UPS with an origin scan in Nashville. So, that's good news.

Another thought in response to a claim made on another site about the European delays being due to our different keyboard requirements in the EU (which involve an ISO-style return key and thus different machining):
  • Orders in Australia and parts of Asia are preparing for shipment; they have different keyboards too.
  • The two models on display in Regent Street (behind glass) feature UK keyboard layouts, and a little birdie has confirmed to me that these are production models made in China (rather than prototypes made in Cupertino/Austin/Cork, Ireland/Cambridge, UK), and so ISO keyboard tooling has been in place since before October 27.

I see.

But if I can't blame Apple for not finalising the logistics of it, who can I blame? The ball is in their court.

They have massive distribution hubs. Macs are low volume compared to, for example, iPhones. Stockpiling and having an en masse launch would have been totally possible.

And there is evidence that they prioritised Americans, because American customers were charged first, PFSed first, and shipped first.

We're still 'processing'.
That is literally what they do with every other product launch.

The 'cut-off time' system is already in operation. There was a cut-off time between people who had 2-3 week and 3-4 week and 4-5 week estimates.

Reductio ad absurdum. Apple didn't even try to have these arrive on the same day, it was just haphazard. They manage it with iPhones, why not with Macs?

Because for me and most people the launch day buzz is part of it.

I'm still grateful, I still have perspective, I still appreciate the insignificance of it all, but I can still express discontent.
I understand your points, but do you really believe that everyone get's their phones at the same time? That is absolutely not the case. Apple does stock pile the phones in the limited configurations that they believe will be most popular. But my son and I ordered our iPhone 7 Plus at the same time. We ordered the same exact phone configuration, except color. I got Matte Black and he got Jet Black, I got my phone weeks before he did. Where is the fairness in that? Keep in mind, we are doing BTO's and that is even more difficult than the pre made options on the phones. I don't think Apple really goes out of their way to disappoint any of it's customers. But it is not in any way realistic to think that everyone can get their product at the same time or in the order that they placed their orders. It just isn't possible. But to know that Apple is a company who will deliver within the promised window in almost every case, is a win for us who like the launch day excitement.

Further, I bet there is a ton of european ppl in here that ordered US keyboard.

You didn't have the same estimated delivery slots though, did you! We have.

Hey guys,

Mine delivered at 11:40am EST this morning. I pieced together a quick unboxing (very low quality) if you are dying for more info, here you go.

Let me know if you have questions!

I think i have an issue....
My heart skipped a beat when you let the MB fall onto the bed.
I have a feeling the next week will be a long one....
Anyone up for a field trip to China?

I don't want to freak you out, but my last MBP came to europe from China with Lufthansa Cargo.
Guess who just announced a strike "soon"? Lufthansa pilots During past strikes, they managed to operate a number of flights but oftentimes all cargo flights were just cancelled.

Me too with economy. And I'm northeast too (NYC)

My issue is more that I think you're giving, for lack of a better phrase, "undue credit" to Apple for this. This is the result of their logistical partners. There's no evidence Apple did any sort of active work to ensure Americans get their stuff faster

I ordered a maxed out CPU-GPU 15" with 256 GB SSD on 29th oct and it showed 7-15 DEC delivery date on Apple.com but suddenly I got a mssg yesterday that it will be delivered on 15th Nov

Delivery destination is Piscataway NJ anyone else with the same thing

Along with a few more cases here and there where US shipments seemingly were bumped WAY up and EU shipments are AWOL.

I'm not really a stakeholder in this debate since I long cancelled my order, but I sure understand why EU peeps would be unhappy with Apple.

:(

I'm in the 3-4 week timeframe too for 11/25-12/6 and I am just hoping I get it before Thanksgiving.

Mine says "shipping to store" and left the Elk Grove distribution center in California yesterday. I'm in Montreal, Canada, does anyone know when I can expect it It at my apple store ?
I'm going to guess tomorrow, as it has to pass through another round of customs... but I could be wrong

You better find a corner right now! Don't you even mention it!
