Maxed out 15" except for SSD I went with 1TB because $1200.00 for 2TB was to much for me. Also I used my Education discount to save around 500.00 plus TAX.

Edit: Now I can, No date change for me. Still showing Nov 17 - 25, but I feel like this is the first wave of shipments. Going by the spreadsheet, most people who ordered on Oct 27th have that ship date.

You just need to be prepared to defend it with an email account or other form of proof. I believe they are spot checking. I bought two - one for my grad student daughter and one for me (grade school staff) and so far, no requests. But I am prepared. I did NOT buy thru Unidays. My daughter does have an account but I wouldn't. I just bought thru the Education store link at bottom of Apple page.
edit: I chatted Apple to ask what I needed to do to be 'qualified' after I ordered since I didn't want to delay the orders. He said there was nothing to do

I bought an iPP in store using my education discount and was asked to provide proof that I was in school. So I logged into my schools online schedule that clearly showed my name and school name.
For this MBP purchase I ordered from the apple store, after placing my order I realized that I forgot to do the education discount. I called apple and had CS adjust my pricing for the Education discount. I was never asked to provide any kind of proof, not even a school name.
It's really good of you to have set up the spreadsheet(s), regardless of how you've formatted them. Am sure more people appreciate your effort than are saying.

Ordered the above one. Not sure it is the right one for me in the sense that I now have a 15 inch Late 2008 Unibody MBP and wonder whether I will get used to the 13 inch... I just want something a bit more portable but it might be that the 2016 15 inch is pretty portable as well (as compared to my current Late 2008). Also not sure whether I really need the 3.3 GHz and should have saved £180 pounds and stick with the 2.9GHz... Anyway don't feel like changing my order now so will stick with it. Once you receive your order can you go and change in store and get credit back/have to pay extra if you downgrade / upgrade (respectively)? Also, any thoughts on the above config?
Don't cancel. I started a chat and asked to change the configuration of my machine and was told it would not change my delivery date. The change was made and I still have my original Nov. 17-25th date.About to cancel my order and go with the 1 tb ssd instead of the 512 gb. I ordered the first day so it would've delivered nov 17-25th, now I have to wait till mid december probably
Eh im not sure! I just tried to change a configuration and the chat person said I would have to make a new order.
Interesting... I guess Apple must have a better order status internally then which shows if the build process has begun. In the past, even changing your delivery date has delayed the delivery date.

Not quite, I managed to land Nov 14 - 21 for my silver 2.6GHz with storage and GPU upgrade.

If you've managed to get by on late 2008 specs for eight years, the performance difference between the 13-inch and 15-inch isn't going to make much difference for you I'd imagine. This thing is going to murder the pants off your 2008 Core 2 Duo. It's only really a question of whether you will miss the extra screen real estate. Unless your 2008 Pro had the 1680x1050 upgrade, I doubt you will.
I sold mine on eBay for 1200, 2.2 i7 16Gb 256SSD

I bought a fully spec'd 13" from B&H. Have you ever purchased a BTO model from before they had stock, and if so do you recall if there was a significant lag between Apple's estimate ship dates and B&H's?
Nah, I have the late 2008 with 1440x900. This makes me feel way better about my 13 inch choice. Thanks for the feedback!

Hi all. Long-time lurker here, first time poster. I've got several design clients that have asked that I occasionally be on-site for work and all I have is a struggling mid-2011 iMac. So I'm really anxious to get my new MBP in. I was very swift when I ordered after the event ended and got my confirmation e-mail at 2:26 EST, so within a couple minutes of the app re-opening. Wondering if anyone knows if changing payment method would delay my order at all. Really hesitant to try and it's not crucial to change it. Here is what I ordered:
