Also, any thoughts on the above config?
Well since you maxed out the important bits, I guess no-one can have any negative thoughts about that config! :p

I bought a fully spec'd 13" from B&H. Have you ever purchased a BTO model from before they had stock, and if so do you recall if there was a significant lag between Apple's estimate ship dates and B&H's?

I have not purchased anything like this from them before, no. I don't imagine there will be that much of a lag time though since there are no special configurations available - just straight models. I think it might be longer than the shipping estimate on the B&H site, just like Apple's though.

What time on Friday did you order? I ordered 10amEST and I am still showing December 5th

Got my shipping date moved up a bit (Ordered on Friday 3-4 weeks), and now it seems like it's coming almost a full week earlier than the original estimated date.

It's really good of you to have set up the spreadsheet(s), regardless of how you've formatted them. Am sure more people appreciate your effort than are saying.

Nice to hear something positive. Thank you :)

For those who are setting up custom filters (i.e. to show Germany only) bear in mind that this affects us all so please turn this off when you've finished

Eyeing the same config. This really feel about $300 too expensive, but Apple knows that I can't do Windows. :(

My wife is back in school for her masters so I'd like to use the education discount. Did you just need your school email address for this or anything special?

My wife is doing the same,

I got her to register through Unidays, with here uni student/staff id and it appeared quite simple.

Ordered it under her name though the Unidays Apple link and got the $400 AUD discount.

Worth the 5 minutes to set it up.

You can order what Apple calls BTO machines when you buy from them at B&H. Here is how I got to the product page for it: http://prices.appleinsider.com/#Current_Generation

Ordered my 13' with Touch ID....nothing fancy spec wise. My first venture into Macs.

Got a discount through my Professional Association subscription, still a big dent in the wallet, but I'd made my mind up I was going to get one, and so I did.

Dang! Expensive bags. That being said, it looks like they have MacBook stuff, but I don't see anything for MacBook Pros--old or new.

Expensive but good. Click macbook stuff and then you can select the new pros. I already order a dash sleeve. Had one for my rMB and loved it.

I have ordered this: mbp 15" - 6700hq, 512gb, 16gb ram and amd radeon pro 460.

I am a developer, then i don't need more power on cpu. I have spent 2798,73€.

So guys, since I'm unable to get the new mbp shipped because I don't know where I'll be at the end of November/beg. Dec., but instead have 3 Apple Stores 45 minutes away, do you have any idea when they're going to be available for pick-up? Is the end of November even plausible or am I daydreaming? Thanks!!
I ordered in the first five minutes and my pickup in store date is Nov 25th

I had a dispatch notification for mine earlier this evening(13" base model non touchbar), it will arrive tomorrow (01/11), despite the shipping estimate being 02/11 when I ordered it on 30/10.

Depending on how I feel about it, I may return it and order a touchbar version. Out of interest, does everyone expect the waiting time to get longer for the touchbar models? At the moment it is 4-5 weeks!

I expect them all to ship sooner. Just my opinion.

Nah, it's peaked. Unless we hear news of production issues, 4-5 weeks will be the worst it will get.

15-inch MacBook Pro - Space Gray

• 2.7GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
• 16GB 2133MHz memory
• 512GB PCIe-based SSD
• Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB memory

The upgrade cost of the better dGPU was an easy choice. Really, really wanted to upgrade to the 1TB SSD, but I already feel sick at the ridiculous amount of money I just spent.

I went with the 512 GB SSD for the same reason, I was really hoping that with the 2TB options that the 1TB would drop more in price...

I just ordered a fully maxed out 15" - Space Grey

- 2.9 GHz quad-core
- 16GB RAM
- 2TB SSD
- Radeon Pro 460

My estimated arrival date is Dec 14/16.

I am very ready to replace my early 2011 15" MBP that I had upgraded to 16GB ram and 2 x 1TB drives.

I had ordered two 13" Macs on Friday, one with the touchbar and one without, both maxed out specs.

But, after finding out the non-touchbar version has an underpowered 15w CPU (touchbar version has a 28w one), I cancelled the non-touchbar version.. They really shouldn't call the 15w version a Pro.

Deliver 24 November - 2 December

Old 2008:
15" MacBook Pro Unibody
2.4 GHz Core2Duo
4 GB DDR3
128 GB SSD (OWC aftermarket)
GeForce 9600M 256 MB VRAM (edit, fixed!)

New 2016:
15" MacBook Pro w/ Touch Bar
Space Grey
2.6 GHz Quad Core i7
16 GB LPDDR3
512 GB Flash
Radeon Pro 460 4 GB VRAM

I've been waiting almost 6 months for Apple to finally announce this machine (since the day I found out my trusty 2008 would no longer be supported for OS updates) and it is going to be a massive improvement!

I just ordered a 15" Space Grey! So glad to be moving on from a 13" 2012 i7 MacBook Air to a Retina IPS display that also needs a new battery.

- 2.7GHz quad-core i7
- 1TB SSD
- Radeon Pro 460 (what's AUD$160 for 40% more TFLOPS, when you're at AUD$5,308)
- Apple Care

Estimated Delivery Dec 2 - Dec 8

Price: AUD$5,468 (including 10% GST)
I must really love using a Mac for my personal computing. This touch bar better be as fluid as it looks, one bit of stuttering and I'll be crying in the corner.
The hardest decision was 512GB vs 1TB for the SSD, over AUD$600 to upgrade from the 512GB. I don't want to be reliant on external drives though - I like a one stop shop. Next is trying to find a good looking Thunderbolt 3 - not USB-C 3.1 hub - so that the speeds of all the ports present on the hub are achievable at once and not sharing bandwidth from one another. Let me know if you've seen any around.

Hi All,

I've created a Google Docs spreadsheet which can be edited by all so we can add our orders and compare progress:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WLB7Tqsyvettq9VYCBR-S5D7AzcCMPEZpMhaGa2cFsM/edit?usp=sharing

Please add your order to the spreadsheet and update when your order changes status! That will then give those of us waiting an idea as to whether orders are shipping early.

Back in 2013 when ordering a Mac Pro, I did the same thing and the spreadsheet was very popular with a couple of hundred people adding their order details.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1u3A5fVklSX7Xt9ZaS-9sx1qy5gH8e2tPtxmBmexYNpg/edit

Thanks!

Great idea. Thanks! Just updated with my order info.

Maybe others can quote your post when confirming they added their info to the spreadsheet, so that later visitors to this thread can find the spreadsheet and do the same?

People are ordering 10:1 space gray to silver lol. Oh well, I'm getting silver but from the short lived $800 off amazon deal, which I'm thinking will ship at this point.

I take that back, looks more like 20:1!

15-inch MacBook Pro Silver
  • 2.7GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor
  • Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
  • 16GB 2133MHz memory
  • 512GB PCIe-based SSD1
  • Radeon Pro 455 with 2GB memory
