Ordered a 13-inch MacBook Pro - Space Grey. Delivers: 18 Nov - 24 Nov.

• 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i5
• 8GB 2133MHz memory
• 512GB PCIe-based SSD
• Touch Bar and Touch ID

In Canada so $2,549.00 + tax :( Wanted the 16gb but that would push it over $3000 after tax, which was my breaking point. I'm hoping they surprise us with early shipping, it's been a long wait.

Any chance Apple let's me edit my order to increase the storage from 256 to 512?

Unfortunately, no. Chatted with a representative that said that orders cannot be changed once placed - you should have to cancel and re-order.

I guess I'm gonna cancel and reorder. Not feeling Space Gray due to scratching and smudges. I also think 512 is minimum for future proofing.

I'm not sure why they're not powering through a different usb-C port. And yeah, buy a usb-C cable. only dongle I'd need is the splitter on the phone for my workspace, if I bought a 7, which I won't be doing.
The image shows a 12" MacBook with one USB-C port.

Pulled the plug. Canceled and reordered for the Silver/512 storage 15". Knowing the storage will almost certainly be soldered to the motherboard I can't in good faith do 256, what's the ~$150 difference at this price point. Also, the space gray will show scratches and smudges more clearly than the silver, and I've never owned a mac, so I might as well go classic. No point in ordering something I will regret for 5 years, now I have to wait until mid-December. The "silver lining" (LOL) is that at least I will get an early Christmas present, and get the chance to see the reviews. An extra couple weeks and ~$150 versus 5 years of regret is a no brainer.

So glad I ordered 10 minutes after the keynote (my biggest debate was getting a space grey or not)
Most of my stuff is either on a portable drive that I always have with my so I thought I'd treat myself to the 2.9ghz cpu.

Delivery:17 Nov - 24 Nov

  • 15"
  • Space Grey
  • 2.9GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
  • 16GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM
  • Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB VRAM
  • 256GB PCIe-based SSD

Does anyone in the UK know of any insurance companies that would cover a laptop as expensive as the new MacBook Pros? I ordered a spec'd out 15" model (just over £4000) but the maximum value most sites have is £2000, with one I've seen at £2500. I haven't seen anything over that though.

I haven't insured gadgets of mine before, but considering how expensive the new MBPs are I think I'd like to in this case o_O

That's exactly what I did. I originally had a Nov17-25 delivered date. Now its from Dec 6th to 13 lol
Damn I called Apple and they told me that they requested the change but its's been 48 hours no change till now, I called again they said your account shows that the request has been put :3

I was thinking of ordering the same config as you, since most of my files are either on the cloud or on an external HD. Ended up going with 2.7GHz i7/512GB SSD/460 GPU. Is the 2.9 worth the extra upgrade?

Apple sucks in terms of customer service, I know they have good chat service but they should not lie, I am upgrading my order not going low at least if they want me to cancel and reorder, they should tell me instead of saying again and again that the request has been put.

Bit the bullet and pre-ordered the 15" 16GB/256GB Space Grey.. come in this thread and see posts about smudging and scratching on the SG colour? Now I'm back on the fence about what colour I'd like.
