Ordered identicle ones for the wife and myself, other than I get space grey and she gets silver

With touch bar or not? The order page is down now. If yours has a touch bar. Our order may get processed earlier. I hope that guy isn't trolling us.

I tried to check my order status online and got an error along with others here. There's some error on Apple's end that probably also affected some shipping dates I presume. Hopefully it will be corrected soon.
 
Same configuration that i ordered.....worrying.

Just checked here as order page functional to me, and still the same at 14th-21st Nov.

  • Touch Bar and Touch ID
  • Force Touch trackpad
I'm currently using a mid-2012 15" rMBP with just base specs (2.3 GHZ Intel i7; 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3; Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB). Use LR for light to moderate photo editing. Notice performance is getting a little sluggish on the old machine when editing my photos now. Hoping the new MBP will be better.

Price wise, it was a huge jump. I paid about $2500CAD with taxes in 2012 with education discount. The new machine costs ~$3700CAD tax in with a rough 6% corproate discount. All I can say is OUCH!!!! Still on the fence if I should cancel the order and stick with my 2012 rMBP for now until the new iMAC comes out. At least I still have about a month to decide, for once I'm not hoping my shipping date will get bumped up....LOL.

That is very upsetting. I would be calling Apple first thing tomorrow to express my frustration at this. Lots of evidence in this thread that the delay in your shipping date is completely out of line with all others, and of course with what you were originally told. Hope it goes back to the original shipping time.

Thanks, I phoned them this morning (Australia time) and they confirmed the change to my delivery date. All they could do was send an email to the back office requesting an earlier delivery if possible. I'll have to wait and see.

I feel like this would be way too early. Maybe preparing for shipment on Friday with mid week delivery?

Yes, just checked my order and got the same error message. Order was acknowledged on October 30 @ 04:10PM Pacific time with Delivers: Nov 29 - Dec 6 by Standard Shipping
 
Does the order status page typically go down like this before mass "preparing for shipment" status changes??

I ordered Thursday, about 3 hours after the keynote was over and my order status page is down as well!! Hoping for a early delivery as I'm selling my 2011 MBP this weekend!!

They will not do anything. I gave the order by phone because my laptop wasn't working, they placed the wrong order and now saying That they have sent the information to the order processing team to change and correct my order and told me to wait 24 hours it's been 48 and nothing has been done till now. I called again this time they told me I have to cancel and reorder my order ...!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Announcement day order. Finally going retina.

I got 8 years out of my other unibody 15 incher, but that one I was able to upgrade RAM from 2GB to 4GB and then 8GB. And HDD to faster HDD and then eventually SSD. No such luck with modern macbooks.
 
For the record...I ordered my iphone 7 plus the pre order day and it said 2-3 weeks and it came on the release day. Normally with apple, shipments always come early, it makes them look good. Sometimes really early and other times maybe a week or few days before date posted. Just some food for thought.
