Good luck with the hackintosh. It was fun for five years but ended up to be too much of a pain for me.

TB3 is going to allow me to consolidate down to one Mac that I can easily dock (one cable, huzzah) to a dual monitor setup. And then with a quick button press (no rebooting) I can switch to my ex-hackintosh for gaming. IDK, unless you really need GPU performance in OS X for some reason, I don't really see the appeal of a hackintosh anymore. And it frees you up considerably for parts--i.e no more waiting for GTX 1070 drivers.

Hahahaha I actually don't need OS X at all. I need windows for my architect programs. I actually need to dual boot or use vmware because I like iCloud holding all my documents that can be interchangeable between my mac, desktop, and iPhone. Especially since I hate peripherals. Don't even have a usb stick. The only thing is my sd card.

Originally 15" 2.7GHz/16/512/460 4Gb, ordered Oct 28th with Nov 28- Dec 2nd shipping.

Changed to the 2.9GHz and added student discount one day later, took Apple four days to process change, now shipping has slipped to Dec 9-15. I'm really pissed about Apple not holding my place in line for the same P.O. and custom-build time.

$3,080 after tax and student discount.

Wouldn't it make way more sense to use Onedrive, Dropbox, or Google Drive for that?

What the other guy said. Use Dropbox, and the Mac for everything except your architect stuff. No rebooting and no hackintosh headaches.

Well, my spare 87W AC adapters order just "went to shipping". That was the longest waiting. Next to the actual laptop of course. So, progress... :)

Base 15" ordered! Was going to go for the 13" with an i7 & 16GB RAM but thought the 15" is the more capable machine so bit the bullet!

Placed an order on Monday Oct 31st, and the est. shipping 4-5 weeks
I hope I get it earlier because I am leaving for vacation for 3 weeks on Dec 15th :-l
I got my Apple watch 2 & iPhone 7 Plus two weeks earlier than the expected date!!

Assuming this is for a non touch bar version? Built to order or base model?

I cancelled my original 13" order - placed just 2 minutes after the end of the event - for the dumbest reason... to upgrade from the 2.9 GHz i5 to the 3.3GHz i7. Delayed my shipment from 2-3 weeks to 4-5 weeks.

I know it will literally make NO difference in my day to day tasks but I've been waiting to buy a new computer for ages and was always used to maxing out the processor, and found myself bothered by not upgrading it in the initial order. Plus I use my MacBook to run my business and can write it off as a business expense.

I guess now I have the configuration I will be happiest with, but I spent more money than necessary for something I'm not likely going to make much use of. So I feel like a sucker, but still super excited for the MacBook to ship since this will be my first computer with a retina screen.

Well I placed my order only hours after the event and quickly realized I wanted the 460 dgpu. I went to cancel it 20 minutes after it was made and It wouldn't allow it. For day now I've been trying and now that I had apple on the phone they are telling me they can't cancel it even though it won't ship for 3-4 weeks. What an absolute joke. Their recommendation was for me to order another one and have both on my card and just return the first. On top of that I would have to wait the 2 weeks for the second one to arrive since the shipping has slipped even further.
