Has anybody's card been charged yet?

Card got hit this morning for 13" MacBook Pro! It was ordered through the Apple Business Store. No change on the Order Status page though.

Again, these are not iPhones, these are all customized built-to-order devices likely using just-in-time production methods. They don't all fill up entire planes, each ship out as soon as they're finished being built. Some in big batches, some in smaller batches. All depends on whether they're stock or BTO.
Mostly JIT but I would not be surprised that if they have enough orders for a full day/shift of production that they would run that day/shift building one configuration. Efficient and eliminates the chance of a line worker putting in an incorrect component because they would only be putting in the same component on every machine all day.

You people who have your Macbook Pros on order should probably see this.
Maybe some of you can report back to us if you have experiences similar issues...

@Scissors Just thought you should be aware of this, someone butchered your Macbook Pro document. They left ONLY Canadian orders in the USA/Canada tab for the 15" models.

They just had a filter turned on for Canada orders only. I set it back to All and everything is good.

What I find interesting is he is using cheap USB-C to USB adapters. And there are well documented cases of inferior devices being for sale on Amazon that can actually damage your device. So maybe he should buy some good quality devices instead of the cheap stuff.

Oh, this is pretty cool, just entered mine :D

EDIT: holy crap Space Grey is popular!
Apple seems to be estimating colour demand at 10:1 in favour of space grey based on cursory surveys of Apple Store stock and third party retailer stock of the non-Touch Bar model I was sad enough to undertake!

So finally got my order through for a 15 inch mbp. Cost me about $2900 and I feel kinda disgusted with myself for paying that much. The last laptop i bought a 13 inch mbp in 2010 and that was about $1200. Im gonna use this for as long as possible

Cheap crappy USB-C adapter.. If he bought a proper USB-C to HDMI adapter, it would work just fine.

The metal casing of the adapter is probably shorting on the metal case of the MacBook pro....

I ordered a Space Gray 15" MBPro few hours after the key note (2.7 Ghz/512 GB/4GB VRAM). After a lot of people mentioned on this thread about scratches being more visible on the Space Gray than the Silver color, I went into the nearest Apple Store to check this in person and did not find this to be true. Attached are a few photos.

I also was not sure about my feelings about the Butterfly keyboard, but it only took me a few minutes to get used to it. I even did a one minute typing test with 75 words and 0 errors. The part I missed the most is the MagSafe adaptor.

By the way, I asked a Mac Genius if I could take photos before I took them and she was kind enough to turn a blind eye. If you zoom in closely, you will see that I was checking out this wonderful Mac Rumors thread.:D

Any idea when the 13" Touchbar models will be available in-store either at Apple or Best Buy? Specifically the $1999, 512gb config

Yeah that doesn't look much different from my silver rMBP. I mean, there are smudges all over my iPad and iPhone too...smudges are just a part of tech

Went on the chat, asked for expedited shipping, charged me $14 and bumped me up 4 days... let's see if it holds true.

Interesting reading through this thread. Someone around page 30 mentioned he had ordered the $4299 full boat configuration, and was congratulated for being the first. I had said the same thing on page 12. No matter, I doubt I was the first.

My philosophy is this: nobody has ever complained that their computer was too fast, had too much memory, or had too much storage. The opposite is often true.

I keep my computers (and my cars) longer than most folks, so I buy maxed-out configurations up front to get the longest useful life out of them.
