Talked to Apple After Sales Support and they (2 regular support people and 1 supervisor) said that there's no way to change the shipping method or speed up the delivery.

About the RAM : I have 8 GO (updated from 4) on my MPB Mid 2010. I don't do anything crazy with that machine but the RAM is almost always totally used because of my browser (always more than 20-30 tabs open). Like right now :

And I'm lucky to have more than 1 GO free at the moment.

I just called the number upthread to pay to upgrade my shipping to overnight due to heading out of the country on the 15th. Here is what happened. :)
Yes, as early as the 11th!!!
Edit: This is the 2.9ghz, 16gb, 512gb model

I just tried to get mine upgraded via chat to next day from 2-3 days and this was their response:

"I am sorry but the 2-3 business day shipping is the fastest shipping method we have available for this item since it is shipping from overseas."

The rep said that your order is possibly shipping from the US, so you were given that option.

Where are you located? Is your MacBook Pro touch bar? Stock? BTO?

Does anybody know which transportation service(s) is used for shipping MBPs from China (to Europe)?

My daughters iPhone 7 was delivered via TNT to Norway and having arrived here forwarded to the local postal services. Costs one extra day :(
Looking at the time the iPhone took to get here from China, I expect to see shipping around 11.11.

Probably off topic, but is anyone else sick of people saying "REAL PROS NEED X" it's quite annoying

I'm a professional, and my needs are based around thunderbolt so this laptop is a perfect fit for me. Seems so ridiculous to make such black and white statements like that.

I mean the Razer blade that everyone who hates this mac is drooling over has 1 thunderbolt port, and for my professional needs that just won't cut it. So should i make stupid statements about how it's not a pro laptop?

4GB RAM being used for your browser is absolutely unreasonable! Maybe this is a Safari-only thing (I've never owned one before), but I would suggest that that is down to some appalling browser coding. And please, never describe 8GB RAM is entry level again! I'm on Chrome on PC right now and that Docs tab uses 100mb of RAM. Using up 34.5GB RAM is absolutely insane to the point of memory leakage.

I'm on Chrome right now, but on PC.

I'm not sure if it's the OS or the browser or a combination but Chrome on Mac is a ram hog. Firefox was fine in general and what I've used. Still I've learned my lesson for being stingy with Ram. If 8 is entry level then my guess is it won't be enough for long. They only go up to 16 so it should be enough for a while and worth that "future proof" insurance imo.

I'm in Uk, ordered on Monday, to be shipped to home address, as no pick up at store available. That option is now available if anyone is interested.

Just finished chatting with Alejandro through Apple Support. Asked if I could upgrade my shipping method and he said for $14.00 I could move up from Standard Shipping to 2-3 day shipping. I took the offer and now my order is expected to be delivered between 11/15 and 11/22. That is bump up from 11/17 to 11/25. BTO configuration.

Has anyone with a UK order managed to update to faster delivery ?

I ordered through my business account manager, he wasn't able to do any faster shipping a few more days doesn't make to much difference to me, ordered both the 13 and 15 Inch, 13 to replace my macbook 12Inch and 15 to replace my 4 year old macbook pro :)

May I ask you where is your location? I am at US and they said that there is no other way to upgrade my shipping date... i am wondering if this is based on the location as mine is also BTO.

I'm sitting here working, with my e-mail client of choice open up on my second monitor. The familiar soft chime comes along and I glance over to see if the new e-mail is important.

"Apple Store Shipment Notifcation"

I think I actually started to hyperventilate a little. I hurriedly clicked on the link, about ready to jump out of my chair and shout and probably scare my secretary, when...

...I remembered I had ALSO ordered a Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter. Which is what actually shipped.
