Just want to buzz in the conversation and also mention that I got in on the Amazon price mistake and they will be honoring the $1999 price. Amazon sent out emails on Tuesday informing that although it was a mistake they would still honor price listed. Very excited to receive my MacBook especially with an $800 discount. :D

Read that article, really cool of them to do. Hopefully they can get them to you by the end of the year.
 
Talked to a rep today after trying to get expedited shipping. They said that it's likely that those of us who are quoted November 17th to November 25th should expect them on the 17th or sooner!

For that reason, no expedited shipping is offered as there is no way to make it any faster.

Given nothing has shipped after 1 week, it probably means the MbP hasn't entered mass production when it was announced.

I hope they don't run into some kind of manufacturing problem or part shortage.
 
LOL, this thread feels like a safe haven from the rest of the MacBook Pro Forum being filled up with apocalypse now threads on all the Thunderbolt 3, USB-C, dongle, WiFi and what not compatibility issues - not to speak about the new keyboard, higher prices .... and I could go on... :rolleyes:

It turns out it isn't actually possible. To use a gift card towards the order it needs to be on a new order. To change the credit card information (since AppleCare was on the order) you need to wait until an email is received about issues with payment. Shouldn't be a problem after that though.
 
Standard shipping vs 2-3 days gets shipped out the same time depending on your order date, only difference is standard normally takes 5 business days vs. 2-3 days.

I've had success upgrading the shipping on all of the items I bought through Apple.com. I normally call the 1-800 # & ask if I can upgrade the shipping. 100% of the time they'll do it for free.

LoL, now i want to know what it means XD. I get mine from 05-09 of Dec.

Has someone from Germany had success upgrading the shipping?

I decided to not even trying to upgrade the shipping. :rolleyes:
I went out for it and now i have to wait...it's going to be hard but it will worth it.
 
I preordered a BTO 15" Space Grey from BH Photo because apple cancelled my original order as I was shipping to a freight forwarder address. My question is: Does anyone have any experience pre ordering from B&H? When will they probably receive the devices?
 
I think the only thing stopping me from purchasing right now is, not being sure if the removal of the F keys and addition of the touch bar will greatly hinder productivity :(. Heck, I don't know how it would bode with games.

Does anyone know if it is possible to make them by default be F keys, rather than having to hold down Function?

It's app specific, so one would assume that if an app does not explicitly support the touch bar then it will default to F keys.

That would be my guess.

How is it going to hinder you? Don't you already have to hold down FN to bypass the hardware control function and have the key act as a regular function key?

Then in apps where they are always needed I'm sure the behavior will reverse and they will be shown full time and holding FN will prob show the hardware controls

So after being for 45 mins on the phone with the hotline, there is nothing they can do. They guy i had on the phone tried really everything and was kind like no other, but sadly no.

55 pages and it is heart warming to see not one person has purchased a new rMBP holding true to the spirit of disgust. Well done people, stick it to Apple machine by boycotting their product!

That's the spirit keep up the solidarity comrades, we'll crush their high prices with patience and tenacity of resolve and we'll post our ire and $ 4 specs ratios and summary of and on our new Dell XPS laptops from anonymous wifi locations across the global network of Starbucks! :)
 
Good morning all, does anyone know if it is possible for a BTO machine that I elected to pick up at an Apple Store has any possibility of pickup before my "Available for pickup" day? Right now it is December 5th, but of course I would not complain about getting it earlier!

I think they will send you a Mail when it arrives at location, if you choose pick up @ store.
