RE: The Satechi adapters. I wonder if the ones that don't provide enough wattage will still charge it anyway? For example, owners of the 12" MacBook have reported that plugging it into the USB Port of another computer; while the laptop reports "not charging", over time, it goes up. Likewise, plugging an iPad into an iPhone adapter says "Plugged In, Not Charging", but if you leave it overnight, it'll be at 100%.
For my uses, fast charging is unnecessary. If I have it plugged in at my desk it's usually at the end of the day, so I won't be going "on the go" again. So as long as the battery doesn't go DOWN, I'm golden.
Why does Apple makes us wait 2-3 weeks instead of making the announcement 3 weeks after and have packages ship the same day they announce ?
Marketing is probably one reason. Create demand.
Another is Apple's secrecy. If these things are rolling down the line, sitting in stores, etc., then they are far more likely to leak.
Apple actually does this
much much better than most companies. It's not unusual for companies to announce in the fall a product they'll be shipping in the spring; or to give incremental updates over the period of a year or more. Apple announces the full and complete finished product and has them available pretty quickly. The 13" non-touchbar models were available essentially that day.

What would be the logical reason behind a review embargo on the MBP?
Negative reviews?
That's actually not at all Apple Specific and is
extremely common. Lots of companies do this. I'm sure marketing and sales experts have figured out how early reviews impact sales; and I would estimate that good or bad, it has a negative impact. Otherwise they wouldn't.
