They got rid of it unfortunately. The new one only shows devices signed in to iCloud, so no good for tracking new shipments anymore... :(

Which is exactly what I just said. If he is correct then it is the former - that is, leaving the factory earlier. Not sure what you're trying to say, considering if he ordered early and his shipment won't be going over seas, it will be faster - his estimated date started from the 14th.

Even if he is trolling, it should not matter. Everyone will get their order when they do - with patience. Personally, I don't see the incentive in trolling with this.
Apologies, I thought you were saying that earlier arrival date meant it would definitely leave the factory earlier.

Aye, better we not give him too much attention either if he's trolling. If he's telling the truth, good on him. But honestly, let's wait for the more signs of progress.

I'm estimated between 17-24 Nov, so hoping any day now.

Anyone know if the store will have some in stock earlier?
given the price point probable, I ended up walking into the apple store here and asking if they had a maxed out 2015 15 and they did. nothing in between the base and the maxed though. Im assuming they get a few maxed upgraded ones in every release.

I picked up a maxed out 13" Pro from Covent Garden last year and was the same situation - they just hold a few of the maxed out models. Weirdly they aren't shown online for in-store pickup, but they have some if you ask. It wasn't constrained last year though, so I'm doubtful stores will have maxed out Touch Bars this year before Christmas. :)

Ordered at 11pm pacific. I'm not gonna see preparing for shipment for another week. :(

Nov 25 - Dec 2 delivery...

So envious right now.

yeah guys its just sunday maintenance , I don't see a reason they will need to take the site down just for order update.. :)

Everyone does realize it is just a database update to change our status from Processing to Preparing etc. There is no reason to take the entire site down to update the database field to say it is shipping. The database I would almost guarantee doesn't even run on the same server as the web page. It is just normal maintenance. Sorry guys.

Ordered two immediately after they became available on 10/27. I live in southern Cal.

Anyone knows when will these MBP with the Touch Bar be available to purchase at the Apple Store? I'll be visiting NYC in November (15th thru 24th) and was wondering if I'll be able to purchase one. Of course, I won't be able to purchase it online because I won't be in the US for the ETA.

Thanks

Ordered 13" Touch Bar model in Space Grey. Default configuration which will be more than enough for us.
Will be replacing a late '09 MBP 13". Expecting a huge bump in performance, lol :)

Prel. delivery date between 16-22nd December. Hope it comes before Christmas Eve :D

Actually I intended to wait until I see first reviews
I decided to go for the 15" space grey 16GB 512GB 460 with 2,6GHz.
It's a good strategy. You will probably see the reviews and benchmarks rolling in from AnandTech, Barefeats etc. And should you change your mind because of that, you can simply send it back unopened.

I don't think you will, though. I saw the results coming in for the 13" "Macbook Escape":

About the flash:
The MacBook Pro's Flash Storage Smokes The Competition
The 2016 MacBook Pro's internal flash storage is dramatically faster this year. Capacities larger than 256G will have an ever faster write speed. MacVidCards reported 1760MB/s sequential WRITE speed for the 512G. We suspect Apple is using either the Samsung 960 Pro or SM961. (See speed ratings for Samsung flash blades on this Anandtech page.)

Hey guys,

Quick update from the Apple Flagship store in NYC. They had the 15" in the protected glass case but the 13" is not on display as they said the other display case was cracked.

I spent some time with the manager chatting about the new MBP:

  • He was adamant the display versions are production versions, not prototypes. He said the employees have been playing with them after hours and they're full-functioning.
  • They're not anticipating the ability to have in-store available inventory until late January or early February. They're encouraging everyone to order online. They're currently expecting orders placed in-store now to arrive in the first two weeks of December.
  • He said for any orders that were placed in the immediate days after the Keynote, the shipping times will hold true or arrive more quickly by 3-10 days.
  • He said there's no difference to Apple on newly released products for ground v. 2-3 day shipping: it's all the same.
  • I told him my estimated delivery of December 7th and he said he would expect it by end of November.

Just passing the word along as I type this in the store on the non-TB 13".... feels pretty nice actually.

Wow, I'm having a hard time believing that. So according to the guy, nobody is gonna be able to walk into an apple store and buy a TB MBP before January or February? What happens, then? Apple puts new macbooks on display that no-one can buy? They're gonna be like - "place the order online or wait until January"?

This thread needed a message like that.

That's precisely what they've done with the majority of recent product launches. :p

Good to know, thanks. It seems awfully odd that Apple would release a new MBP this close to the holidays without a better production game plan.

This is pretty worrying news for me. I can't order online because I don't know where I'll be when it gets delivered, and I just need a stock model which I assumed would be available in stores by the end of November. Looks like I was being very naive.

So there isn't any chance some stock models will be delivered between November/December in any Apple Store?
