pfft. they'll get another one.

also, it's the system in NE as much, if not more, than the QB. Brissett looked like an MVP too...

I am pretty baffled by the decision to trade Jimmy G
He's a free agent in 2018, and the patriots could not afford to pay him the money he was going to get, especially just to ride the bench. I'm sure Brady was happy to see him go on a couple of levels, first as friend, its good to see him have a chance to play, but also as a competitor to see him play NOT for the patriots ;)

I think it's just ESPN being ESPN. someone mentioned elsewhere that the same writer for that story often writes stories against the Pats.

The Patriots had a choice of Brady or Garoppolo for 2018 and beyond (they couldn't afford both) and they chose Brady. I'm a lifelong Patriots fan and I have no problem with the team valuing legacy and short-term value over longer-term performance. I don't think that Garoppolo is necessarily an upgrade over Brady for the next two years, and after that, everything is a crap shoot. Keep in mind that Garoppolo, for all of his success in SF, still has a lower passer rating this year than people like Stafford or Keenum (and considerably lower than Brady).

As for the ESPN article, I still remember Tom Jackson going off on how the players hated Belichick after the poor start in 2003. Was it true? I don't know and don't care, as long as the team wins. The same is true with this latest article.

Let's go Buffalo! I've been waiting a very long time for this. Congratulations to the team. They deserve the trip to Jacksonville in January, and I hope they win! I hope this is the start of a new era for the Bills. Circle the Wagons!

They should have kept him and paid him next year. Let Brady walk. He's 40 already and Father Time is undefeated. I know he's having the best year of his career. So did Manning, the year before he arm went limp.

This is why Belicheck is angry. He knows Brady is almost done but Kraft didn’t want to let him go.

That's a difficult proposition with an aging super-star, especially one whose' production hasn't decreased. If the patriots cut him in 2018, there would be a mass revolt. I just don't see that happening, and couple that with the price to keep Jimmy G was going to be steep and even for a high dollar amount, he may have still walked as he wants to play the game, and not just stand there.

The ride in New England will be ending sooner or later. With Brady or Bill or both moving on. Do they ride off together or does Bill prove he can win without Tom. Either way there will be bumps ahead for the Patriots and the fans will have to come to terms with it.

I think its in Belichick's mind to prove he can without Brady so he'll be around. I expect Brady to be playing decently in 2018 but its anyone's guess as to wether he'll show signs of decreased ability then or the following season.

so far his ability hasn't had the same abrupt fallout as Payton's, but then Brady has been lucky in that he's incurred less injuries.

Maybe among the bandwagon fans, but real fans would understand. The same thing happened when the Niners replaced Montana with Young. Lots of fans were pissed, but eventually grew to love Steve Young. When the Packers sent Farve packing in favor of Rodgers, guess who the most hated man in Green Bay was a for a year or so? Now when Aaron Rodgers goes down, their season is shot.

Gruden gets 100mil for 10yrs from the Raiders. that's an unprecedented contract for a coach wow. That's all guaranteed money.... I could see now why he walked away from 6.5mil and a cushy booth job at ESPN... Plus I'm sure he figured Brady and Big Ben will be retiring soon and the AFC will be wide open.

Crazy to commit that kind of money to a guy who hasn’t coached a game in 10 years and hasn’t won a playoff game in 16 years.

That is a crazy amount of money and time, so much so, I think the Raiders may regret such a long term contract.

As for Brady/Ben, I think its more that he can win now with Carr, and he has a chance to finish what he failed to do in Oakland, win the big game. Yeah he won the super bowl with Tampa, but he was close in Oakland.

I do wonder being out of coaching for 10 years will hurt him, but he seems to have his ducks in a row.

Nah, that was the best call

Besides that didn't win the game, just got them to OT. The Raiders still could have won, but they didn't.

only someone who benefited from that would like that call.

we had the game won until then.

much like my pleasure from the "fumblerooski" play.

The Raiders are moving to Vegas in a year and Gruden will help fill seats there.
