It all depends on which Cam Newton shows up, otherwise it will be another blowout like the 2 regular season games they played.

I just want someone to please, please, please beat the damn patriots, I don't think I can watch the superbowl if they are in it again... and if they win another one it might just drive me to soccer ugh!

lol.

Well stay away from my team, Sheffield Wednesday FC. They are an utter mess right now.

I was going to say the same thing about Cam.

And God I hope the Pats get beat early!

Exactly. I'm rooting for the Saints regardless. They turned a horrible early start of the season into a Playoff opportunity.

Agreed, I like Drew Brees and wouldn't mind seeing him do well and possibly getting one more before he retires.

The problem with eliminating the requirement that a receiver "survives the ground" is you then have a lot more fumbles, and it's not enough to say "the ground can't cause a fumble". Say a receiver catches the ball, falls down and isn't touched, the ball comes out, and an opponent picks it up and is tackled. Now what? The receiver had possession, wasn't down, but lost the ball.
I think there needs to be a goal line exception. Either the ball breaking the plane of the end line while in possession of the player is a touchdown always, or never. Obviously, never makes no sense.

Why can’t the receiver recover his own fumble in the end zone for a touchdown.

Darnold and Rosen enter the draft...

I don't follow college much but I've been reading alot reports saying that these 2 will go in the top 5 but Darnold is not really going to be a good NFL QB, too many turnovers, bad footwork and makes bad decisions.... And Rosen does not have the physique and has a bad attitude. Any thoughts from you guys who follow college a bit more?

But lordy please don't let the Pats or that team in black & gold win it all.
Yarp. My beef with the Pats ain't the team. It's the rabid, bandwagon fans who talk all kinds of trash when the Pats are winning, but disappear into the wood works when they lose. I know there are a lot of real Patriot fans out there. They're good people to talk football with, very even handed and classy.
I've hated the Steelers since the Luv Ya Blue era when they were the constant roadblock for my Oiler's SB appearance.:mad::mad:

I'm pulling for the Jags this year; AFC South loyalty.;) But I don't see them getting past the Divisional round.:(

I think you can say that about any of the "big" teams in any sport lol.

Aren’t the eagles basically done since their QB is out? They don’t seem to have done all that well in their games since.

It would probably be impossible to be as successful as the Pats have been in during Brady's tenure and not attract a large number of bandwagon fans. It's inevitable, and I understand why that may turn off fans of other teams. Heck, I've hated the Yankees for 50 years just because of their fans and they weren't even any good for a big chunk of my formative years (the Walt No-Neck Williams era).

There are even a chunk of Pats fans who resent the bandwagon fans, but I'm not one of them. As someone who has been a fan of the team since the Boston Patriot days, I'd much rather root for a team that is so good that it attracts even the most casual fan than a team that no one cares about (as was the case for the majority of the time I rooted for the Pats).

eeehhh... It's hard to day. Nick Foles isn't that bad. And he's started for them before, and won.

I don't like their odds though.

I don't see a problem with it. It should be a touchdown.

Belichick 'furious' when Kraft told him to trade Garoppolo, report says

I think cracks in the foundation are starting to show. There was the issue (and may still be one) where Brady's personal trainer and close friend had his unfettered access removed from the Patriots. It was reported shortly after that episode other patriot players were not wanting to do certain workouts because of Guerrero telling them they didn't need to do those and instead follow his exercise regiment. Belichick was not happy and cut off most of his access.

Now its Jimmy getting traded, though I think the writing was on the wall for Garappolo to leave the Patriots anyways. So at the very least the Pats got something that would have been nothing in a few months.

Given our imperfect nature, its only natural for these relationships to ebb and flow, and now with Brady on the downward slope of career (even though his numbers look fantastic), its only a matter of time as life under the microscope gets more intense as the patriots don't win the games they used too.

ESPN has this For Kraft, Brady and Belichick, is this the beginning of the end? but given their prejeduces against the patriots they may be trying to drum up more drama. I don't think its there yet and its a little over the top on their reporting, but with that said, I think the seeds of discontent are indeed planted to some degree.

It's going to be fun to see when that train falls off the tracks and all of the bandwagon roaches start scurrying off and heading for the hills.

It happens, whether we're talking about the 49ers of the 80s or the patriots of the 20xx. They have a good run going, an unparalleled run, to be sure but all things come to an end. What seems to happen though is when a team enjoys huge successes, people start disliking them. People were rooting for them when they beat St. Louis because winning was so easy for the Rams, yet now I suspect many of those people are rooting against the Patriots for the very same reason, winning has come easy for them

Agreed it is bound to happen eventually, however all joking aside I am pretty baffled by the decision to trade Jimmy G.... I mean Belichick had to know what he had in him, why trade away another 5, 6 maybe 10 years of good QB play just to appease Brady for another year or two? I mean I know Kraft loves Brady and rightfully so... But as a businessman he has to think ahead and Jimmy G gave them the chance to stay dominant for a few more years.... As many of us fans of other teams know... good NFL QB's don't grow on trees, and you can go years and years without getting a good one.
