Maybe, maybe not, the fact is that they don't have Wentz for the game. I'm not trying to sound like a homer rooting for the Pats blindly, but rather just saying its pointless to play those what if games. I don't want to take anthing away from their win over the vikings, they did a great job
Agreed. The Eagles looked dominant yesterday, hopefully they will play just like that in the Super Bowl.
Yes the eagles defense is good but patriots always find a way. The jaguars defense is good yet Brady threw for 138 yards yesterday in the 4th quarter against them.
The 2014 superbowl the Patriots were playing the best defense that year, found a way to win.
On February 4th, the Patriots will find a way to win again.

The big problem I see is the Patriots ability as a team to adjust 2nd half. They play lights out defense and great offense after making adjustments.
No of course not, but by the same token, the Job is Wentz's when he returns, I suspect even if Foles wins the super bowl.
How much would that suck, from Superbowl winning QB to holding the clipboard again. I have to imagine that if he plays lights out in the SB again some team(s) will offer Philly a few draft picks for him.

Could you imagine. Yeah I won the Super Bowl, now I am a professional clipboard holder! I would think he would go to another team, at least I would hope so.
Agreed. Carson Wentz is the QB of the Eagles. If Foles manages to lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory, I can pretty much guarantee that some team will trade for him. I know I wouldn't mind the Broncos making a play for him. He is better than any QB already on the team.
There is no way to say the Eagles would be there if Wentz didn't get healthy.
There entire playbook would of changed with him and yes he is a better quarterback, but the luck rolled the way it needed to for the Eagles and I would take the field of 15 other NFC teams to make it to the Super Bowl over the Eagles if they replayed the last 8 games again.
Dilfer is similar to Alex Smith, more of a game manager then a gun slinger. Foles can throw the ball well, very well, something Dilfer wasn't known for.
Foles is streaky, that's why he wasn't a starter and he is also a system quarterback, as opposed to say Sam Bradford (ignoring his injuries) who would have a starting QB spot his entire career because he is a well rounded QB.
Which is why Foles is with the Eagles as opposed to with the Browns or another team that he doesn't know.

Trent Dilfer was never a game manager. He had the talents of a game manager but he had the brain of Jay Cutler. The Ravens won in spite of him and he was replaced the next year.

Wentz is better but Foles is a good QB. He did a good job for them before too. There just always seems to have been someone better at every stop he's made.
I wouldn't be surprised if they won and he had a great game. I hope they do.
But let me throw this in there.
Philly fans are the worst.
I'd almost say that I'd rather the Pats win just based on that.

He was a game manager. The best game manager? Probably not, but look back what he did with Tampa and even Seattle, with little lines in front of him.
The token "game manager" is a QB who doesn't have the top skills, which is why they call him a game manager, but isn't that daft and no, he wasn't Jay Cutler daft.
Brady, Manning, Rogers, etc aren't game managers because they have a skill to get out of a jam, over and over again, which is their physical skill.
Game manager is usually reserved for the guys who you wouldn't expect to be your franchise QB but rather play it safe and don't turnover the football. They usually don't have a good arm as well.
I wasn't trying to debate, but rather just observe.
My 2 cents would be Chad Pennington was a game manager, with the limited skills he had.
Michael Vick and Brett Farve as an example (in their primes) would be the opposite of a game manager, because they would excel clearly on physical skill only, not on brains or managing.

Being from Vancouver, I would agree, it can happen to any city. When the Canucks lost the Stanley Cup, it was a mess in downtown Vancouver and no one would of assumed the nice Canadians would of made a mess of their own city.
Philly gets a bad wrap because its their history. Just the same that the St.Louis Cardinals get the "good wrap" of being the best baseball fans, clearly not all of them are and when you have back to back to back winning seasons, you can make ****** fans quite nice.
Self promotion of wanting to see "chaos" also doesn't help. Instead of posting and talking about how the traffic light poles are being greased up, just ignore it (IE the media)

LOL..... To tell you the truth, I don't remember him in the super bowl, let alone him playing. I have heard him talk on a sport show or two, and well lets just say he isn't very good at that either IMHO.
Yup, I agree. I was in Vancouver in Sept, great city, going back this March. I chatted with a bartender at a really good downtown Italian/pizza place (forget the name but you get scissors to cut the pizza) and we talked for abt 2 hours about hockey. Hockey is my favorite sport.
There are a lot of ******s in the Philly area and the Northeast in general, I will never deny that. But ugly fan behavior happens everywhere.
Ravens when like 12 quarters without a touchdown that year. They ran Jamal Lewis into the ground and Ray Lewis teleported to the quarterback
I wouldn't say the worst and really, that Baltimore defence was so good, that it made the QB need even that much less.
Jeff Hostetler played poorer than Dilfer did and their team barely won the Super Bowl, compared to Dilfer.
Even Brad Johnson was pretty bleak and could be a worse pick than Dilfer.
I'm not trying to pump of Dilfer, but the quality Dilfer had, was just to keep the offence in check and don't make turnovers.
