Fake Super Bowl. With only 538 yards to New England’s 613, it’s only an electoral college Super Bowl win.

Kudos to the Eagles, I think the Patriots had opporunities to take control of the game (or stop the Eagles) but failed to do so.

The Patriots had a decent chance up until the fumble. That trick play almost worked. Field goal mess up didn't help either. Brandon cooks getting knocked out of the game didn't help either.
It’s interesting that both teams had basically the same trick play using the quarterback as a receiver.

I liked that these teams were closely matched, that neither team dominated, they both continued to move the ball with big plays. Ultimately the win, although completely relied on teamwork, boiled down to some specific plays that worked versus failed, and to individual contributions that pushed the Eagles over the top within 60 minutes of the game.

I was vested in neither team, but chose the Eagles because I’m still aggravated by the Patriot videotaping scandle (other teams play signals 2007), and their ball pressure inflation scandle in the 2014-2015 Season AFC Championship Game, that did not result in their forfeit of that season’s Super Bowl win for them. I don’t remember if this scandal was attributed to the Super Bowl itself, but if not for the AFC Championship win, they would not have been in that season’s Super Bowl.

wow what an amazing and entertaining game... The fact that the Patriots lost is just the cherry on top. The big question this morning is why butler was benched... Did belichik really feel he wasn't up to the task or was there something else happening behind the scenes. I think Belichiks arrogance finally caught up to him, he probably felt they had a good game plan in place and it didn't matter who was out there. Butler said after the game that he was healthy and ready to go, and that he could have changed that game..... And in a one score game that is certainly a feasible statement.

I can’t imagine a worst feeling of spending a Super Bowl game on the bench. That opportunity just does not occur that often.

The defense deciding to stop tackling didn't help either. There were a couple times when they had their arms on the guy and just seemed to let go.

I’ll leave this here...

Especially since he played 98% of the defensive snaps for the season. Getting benched for the Super Bowl was quite surprising.

I wonder what the patriots will look like for the next seaon, they're losing both the OC and DC, Brady is a year older and clearly no heir apparent waiting in the wings.

I'd love to know the real reason he was benched.

Me too. He spoke after the game and commented that they gave up on him and that he would have made a difference in the game. That guarantees he will be shipped out of here before the start of next season. I like the guy. While he does get beat sometimes, he is a hard hitter and plays his heart out every down.

Can you give examples of "everybody in the league" cheating ?

A bit exaggerated I think.

Well, because they haven't been caught, no.

But I'd guarantee they do.

And since it, a seemingly small thing like ball inflation, was such a big deal I don't think anyone else who was doing it is going to come out and admit it.

If you think/believe they don't, I applaud you.

I'd like to live in that world one day.

Butler is a free agent and in the pre-game, it was reported that he would not be returning and will test free agency.

The seahawks are about to have 1 starting corner too many. I think the Patriots will sign deshawn shead or Coleman again if the seahawks drop on of them. (Both will be free agents next year and seahawks are tight on cap space)

When do teams start dropping players and trades are allowed again?

Testing free agency doesn't necessarily mean he won't return, unless the Patriots don't make him an offer. I think he's gone though.

Well, I like Belichick but he did learn under Parcells and after seeing the espn 30/30 documentary The Two Bills that seems like a d*ckeheaded move that Parcells would have taught him.

For about 5 minutes I actually kinda liked Coach Parcells. Then all the good will was gone. He totally f*cked over the other Bill. A totally quido move. Yeah he's from Jersey. Go figure, right?

An article about it:
