So the NFL owners voted (all but the Dolphins) to permit the Raiders to move. The funny thing is the NFL rules prohibit NFL officials from visiting Las Vegas during the season, that will obviously have to change.

Also I think has unintended consequences with young men flush with cash, I think the temptation may be too great and finally I'm not sold there's enough interest to sustain a team there - just my $.02

The casinos will keep the stadium sold out.

I'm not so sure, people don't go to vegas to see football, and casinos that have no ownership stake in the stadium will want to keep people in the casino.

People travel to Vegas for the experience as much as to gamble. Its like Disney World for adults. Football and Hockey will get locals and tourists. If they didn't think they could support pro sports they would not have lured the NFL and NHL to the city.

I think there will be more interest for the Raiders in Vegas over the Chargers in L.A.

I think I read somewhere that the Chargers already sold out all of their season tickets for 2017.... I dont know if thats just a product of San Diego being a quick drive away or what but it looks like they are going to be more popular than the Rams.

They'll buy tickets to give to those who gamble a lot much like they do with show tickets, even to shows in other hotels.

Yes, they sold out the 16,000 seat stadium that they will be playing in.

Most people I know around here, are definitely not interested in making the drive to see them play, and are no longer Chargers fans.

Gambling, Mobsters, Whores, Strip Clubs...

I agree.

If the NFL wasn't fixed before...

Will we get to learn the score when the Raiders play in Vegas? You know their slogan, "What happens in Vegas...";)

Anyhow, I feel like a lot of you. The move to Las Vegas was a huge mistake. Players with high family value won't want to play for the Raiders because reputation for decadence and ties organizations famous for breaking thumbs and concrete loafers.

But they will definitely attract a lot of young talent, and it's a young man's game.

I assume this is sarcasm.

Las Vegas is a lot more than the portrayal with which we are all familiar.

And so much of gambling is remote now. The risk isn't very high

We're in the 21st century. Las Vegas is a large city and a lot more than casinos anymore.

Yep. There are lots and lots of shows, some of them even free and open to the public. I hit all the major casinos and caught a lot of shows and attractions. Most of them were family friendly like the Star Trek exhibit at that wax museum (Trekkie nerdiest is strong in me ), but a few where stuff of Vegas mythos.:):):) I saw the free outdoors show at Treasure Island. There are some attractions within driving distance like the Hoover Dam. A damn big dam.:D It looks smaller on TV.;)

I didn't meet any Made Men, maybe because I didn't owe anyone any money.:D But gambling was EVERYWHERE. Heck they even had slot machines in at the airport and in some shops. Too poor to gamble so (Okay, I spent a dollar on the gimmick giant slot machine targeted at tourist:p), I mostly went to Vegas for the shows.

Reports are starting to trickle out that Romo may retire, which is a little surprising, especially since if he does nothing, he forces the cowboys to pay or cut him.

I don't knock the guy from retiring though, we see how brutal the game is, why not leave now and hopefully have a fairly pain free life post-football.

Looks like this is what is happening.

FRISCO, Texas -- In the end, Tony Romo opted to walk away from the NFL on his terms.

League sources told Adam Schefter and me that Romo’s decision came down to his health.

Clearly this is Jerry's doing... I'm sure Romo wants to keep playing but uncle Jerruh doesnt want him playing in texas. Probably made him a sweet backdoor deal and convinced him that retiring was best.... slick little salesman that he is.

If he already has a SB ring, retirement would be a no brainer. But the lure of a championship ring IS a huge temptation. There are two playoff caliber teams in need of a QB, one in greater need than the other. *IF* Jerrah cuts Romo loose, I'll bet dollars to donuts he'll sign with the Texans or Broncos the next day. The allure of the ring is too much. Just ask Gollum.:)

We wants it, we needs it. Must have the precious. Jerrah keeps it from us. Sneaky little Jones. Wicked, tricksy, false!

Reports are that he already signed a contract with CBS... I'm sure Jerry orchestrated the whole thing so Romo pretty much has to go along with it. That sneaky little weasel has a lot of power with the NFL and with the networks.
