I woke up to this and was completely surprised. I know Cleveland is desperate but 16 million dollars desperate? Oh well, the Texans shed a player that they failed to fully vet out in the first place.

I think this was more about getting the 2nd round pick. The browns have a ton of cap space so the 16mil doesn't really bother them. Don't be surprised if they turn around and trade Osweiler to another team for another draft pick... They'll probably sweeten the deal by eating a portion of the salary.

Yeah, I see that, and they seem to covet draft picks - the question for them, is how well will they use them. Quantity may be nice, but you need to get quality.

I think this is definitely a win for the texans and clears up some cap room for Romo, if they can pull a deal together to work a trade (the cowboys seem less inclined to let Romo walk it seems)

The moves being made thus far are very interesting. I think the one that surprises me the most is Brandon Marshall. He's worth well more than what he signed for to go to the Giants. The most intriguing rumor I've heard is the possibility of AP signing in New England.

Romo to the Texans seems like a real possibility with lots of upside for both the team and him.

those rumors so far have only eliminated from AP, nothing from the Patriots. I don't see a lot of positives with him in a Patriot's uniform. He's a player that had gotten used to being fed the ball constantly, and in NE, the star is Tom Brady, so there would be a lot of games that he'd not be used very much. Plus how much of a discount will he accept, clearly the patriots are an organization that refuses to over pay for players and I think the market value of AP is not what he thinks it ought to be. Finally is a team first type of individual which is the culture of the Pats

^And I don't think pass protection has ever been AP's strong suit. I doubt he goes to New England. But you never know.

omg I just saw that... I can't believe the Texans found a team dumb enough to take that contract... They must be dancing in Houston after getting out of that atrocious contract

Browns have lots and lots of $$$ under the cap to absorb and it won't affect their rebuilding at all. Besides, it's only one year and they can drop him. He was signed for 4 years, but can be dropped after the 2nd year. The Browns gained a 2nd round pick which is YUGE, but with how they've drafted in the recently it might be a wasted pick.

Happy dance here. Nuk (Hopkins) is going be back in the Pro-Bowl this year. Now we can see if Fuller and Braxton were worthy of 1st and 3rd round status. Houston can wait out Jerrah (going back on his word to release Romo:mad::mad::mad:). I doubt he's going to Denver since their O-line is a huge downgrade over ours. And Elway will look bad for picking Lynch in the 1st round. One thing I can't stand is someone who doesn't keep his word. Yeah, I'm old fashion, but I still believe a man's word is his bond.

Really, both of those o-lines are a sieve.

Titans fans are kind of hoping that the Texans get Romo. There is no way he lasts an entire season behind that line.

Agreed, the Giants got Marshall at a bargain price.

Love the moves by my Miami Dolphins so far! Resigned Kenny Stills, Reshad Jones, tendered Kiko Alonso, Michael Thomas and Damien Williams. Signed Anthony Fasano, Julius Thomas! Trade peanuts for William Hayes from St Louis. Spectacular!!!!!! Timmons is visiting in Miami right now from Pitt, finally I think this organization has figured it out! Fins Up!

You all are probably right, but I just don't think you can underestimate how bad players in the twilight of their careers want that chance to win a championship. The Pats are for sure the best option if that is your goal. He might be willing to take a pay cut and not be the focus of the team in order to get a ring. We've certainly seen other players show some humility for that opportunity.

Martellus Bennett to the Packers. Good move by them. A lot of people think he's a problem in the locker room, but he was awesome last year in New England. Bought into the program, no drama, played hurt the whole second half of the season. I wish NE could have kept him, but I'm not surprised they didn't want to give what he was looking for in a contract.

Fingers crossed they re-sign Hightower and get something done with Butler.

EDIT: Just in - NE trades 1st and 3rd round picks to NO for Brandin Cooks and 4th round pick.

Shoot, I'm a seahawks fan but thinking patriots are gonna win next year. With the free agency additions, they'll have number one offense and number one defense.

Why oh why did Seattle sign Eddie Lacy.

The dude can't keep his weight down.

Yeah they're loading up. Rawls, procise, lacy, they tendered Pope, and Jamal Charles still coming to visit. Even if one of the running backs are extremely talented, it won't show with a crappy oline.
