And they got lucky themselves in getting there.
Thanks. I don’t really want any reason to pull for NE (I’m not a hater) but I’m playing with his money anyway. I asked for that deal and he turned it down and shot it back at me. It seemed decent.
Back in the day when the Seahawks won games thanks to their excellent defense, they were masterminds. When the patriots win thanks to the defense, you have a million haters whining. That's just the way things are.Beating the two highest scoring teams in the NFL, yep, nothing but luck.![]()
Wow, that was a snoozer of a game.![]()
Especially when this commercial was actually more exciting than the game:
The rams beat the saints, so they were the best team in the NFC. The patriots played well and became world champions. Its not rocket surgery, they beat the rams like they beat the Falcons, and Seahawks, great coaching and great effort from the entire team. People can grumble all they want, but no other NFL team has reached and stayed at the pinnacle of success like the patriots have.Patriots just barely beat a mediocre team.
It was boring and I didn't really catch most of it. I'm glad they won, but it wasn't really game that drew you in.I'll be honest, this wasn't the worst Super Bowl I have seen simply because it was close, but it was definitely not a joy to watch. If I weren't at a party I would have had a long think about turning the game off.

I'm not disputing the bad call, but the bottom line is the Saints failed to get the job done. Couldn't they have run the clock out instead of passing the ball like they did?The Rams were given the game. While its true that the Saints let a 13 point lead go by, one can easily argue that the entire game went on that missed PI. Hence, the Rams never truly earned their ticket to SB-LIII.
I thought it was pretty good. Too bad the Chiefs couldn't beat the patriots ¯\_(ツ)_/¯magine how much better Chiefs Saints would have been.
Horrible half time show. Also imagine how much better halftime would have been with actual talent.
That was one of the most horrendous games I have ever seen...

Wow. That seems to be the sentiment of most posters here. So I didn't miss anything? Was it a boring game? You bet.
Imagine how much better Chiefs Saints would have been.
Refs should have seen the PI, but that doesn't make it a win. Ball would have been placed at that spot. Maybe Saints would have run it into the endzone, maybe they would have tried a pass and maybe the Rams would have intercepted that pass and scored, so there would have been no overtime. We simply don't know and will never find out. Fact is, Saints had a chance to win the OT and they blew it. The two best teams played in the Super Bowl and the best team won. Period. The Rams were given the game. While its true that the Saints let a 13 point lead go by, one can easily argue that the entire game went on that missed PI. Super Bowl LIII predictably dominated the Sunday primetime ratings this week, but did suffer a noticeable year-to-year hit.
In the night’s preliminary adults 18-49 ratings, the Patriots vs. Rams game averaged a 27.9 with 87.72 million viewers, down from the early 30.9 rating and 103.40 million viewers that last year’s Super Bowl game scored on NBC. Last year’s game eventually adjusted to a 33.4 final rating in the demo with 103.39 million viewers.
In the metered markets, the game posted a 44.9 household rating, not only down from the 2018 game, but making it the lowest-rated Super Bowl in the measure since the 2009 game’s 42.1 rating.
Meanwhile, CBS’ post-Super Bowl broadcast of “The World’s Best” series premiere grabbed an early 8.6 with 26.24 million viewers in adults 18-49 from 10:30-11 p.m., landing lower than the 9.3 and 26.97 million viewers that NBC’s postgame “This is Us” broadcast scored in the same time slot last year.
I like how Mike Florio put itSeems everyone hated this game.
Yes, more people watch exciting football games. And, yes, fewer people watch boring ones.
Even the commercials were brutal this year.I like how Mike Florio put it
Also add in the fact that the Patriots have been there 4 out of 5 years and people do get tired of seeing the same team over and over.
Wow, that was a snoozer of a game.![]()

Imagine how much better Chiefs Saints would have been. Also imagine how much better halftime would have been with actual talent. The league really needs to figure out what kind of product it wants to put out there for it's marque game of the year.
You're giving Marshawn Lynch too much credit.

Only because the uniforms for both sides were hideous...
Also, the Jets (Bills,Dolphins) should seriously look into hiring Tony Romo as some sort of coach. Whether it's a DC job or a "Special Envoy On How To Beat The Pats" type of job they should look into it.
I actually enjoyed the game.
[doublepost=1549315422][/doublepost]I'm more upset that Michael Scott/Steve Carrrell(sp?) sold out to Pepsi...
Agreed, that would have been a much better game.
Ya that would be great too.Imagine if you won $10,000,000.
