Could happen for the X.2/X.2 Plus, but I’m skeptical. Most people charge overnight, so what does it matter if it takes 1-1/2 vs 2-1/2 hours?
Also, if the A12 is built using TSMC’s 7nm process, the power savings could be such that the typical user will end the day with 50%+ battery remaining. Put it on the charger before bed and it tops up in about an hour even with a 5W charger.
And with wireless charging, any included adapter may just get thrown into a drawer regardless of its capacity. So I’m really not sure it makes any sense for Apple to make a change. No one makes their buying decision based on which power adapter or cable is included in the box.
