Could happen for the X.2/X.2 Plus, but I’m skeptical. Most people charge overnight, so what does it matter if it takes 1-1/2 vs 2-1/2 hours?

Also, if the A12 is built using TSMC’s 7nm process, the power savings could be such that the typical user will end the day with 50%+ battery remaining. Put it on the charger before bed and it tops up in about an hour even with a 5W charger.

And with wireless charging, any included adapter may just get thrown into a drawer regardless of its capacity. So I’m really not sure it makes any sense for Apple to make a change. No one makes their buying decision based on which power adapter or cable is included in the box.

Virtually every major phone manufacturer from Samsung to Huawei has their own fast charging protocol. Fast charging matters.

This is because many people charge during the day, in addition to charging overnight. This is the same reason why power banks are so popular.

Oh please. Many of us use and like Apple products, but have an issue with their high prices. I will pay for quality, but there are limits. Now we see product quality slipping, yet prices continue to rise, this is a problem. We, the whiners, have a right to express our criticism.

So... How has that whining been working out for you. Are you getting what you want?

Before embarrassing myself publicly in such a manner about a company that doesn't make products that make me happy, and at a price I can afford, I would go with a different manufacturer and reward them with my dollars.

"Now we see product quality slipping, yet prices continue to rise, this is a problem."

We? You are speaking for everyone? Considering phones, on the average, roughly 600,000 people purchased an iPhone each day, everyday, in 2017. The majority from previous customers who continue to open their wallet and reward Apple for the outstanding value provided.

If you don't like Apple's prices (wasn't it margins, earlier?), its easy to purchase a better-valued product. Though I acknowledge that would require taking real action, in contrast to complaining.

Now if only they'd go to USBC on both ends instead of lightning so I can reduce the number of cables I carry and so that iPhone headphones can actually be used with macs

/yes, I know, this horse has been beaten to death

I've ran out of battery on my iPhone X maybe three times since launch so faster charging doesn't make much of a difference to me. It's a beast. I'd rather have this adapter for the iPad Pro.

I’m not mistaken.

iPhone 6 and onwards can be charged using the iPad 10/12w chargers.

Using these chargers will mean charging faster than using the standard 5w charger.

That's not considered fast charging.

The de facto standard for "fast charging" is 50% charge in 30 minutes.

If you want to redefine "fast charging" as anything more than 5W, that's up to you. But if you look at manufacturers like Samsung, Huawei, or OnePlus, 12W isn't considered fast charging. Not since 2015.

After spending $1000 you think that I would’ve had that included with my x. That was a big failure on apples part for a “Premium” phone, so it’s good that they finally realize their mistake.

Too bad they can’t make good on all their X models that they sold with old chargers with.

They may provide a discount....MAY

No one wants USB C. That port is a wobbly mess. Lightning is superior in every aspect. I hope they will never change iPhone to current USB C standard and stick to lightning. Although I agree that USB C to Lightning should be included together with USB A to lightning.

No its not awesome!

Disagree! Its better than microUSB joke but still much worse than lightning. I proudly never bought anything with micro USB. If that had that port it was no buy for me.

I think they'd get USB right. I have four of them on my MBP and no issues on any of them. I'd like to be able to use the same charger/cable for my MBP with my iPhone, or better yet just use the usb-c to usb-c cable to connect my phone to my laptop. Would also be nice to use my USB-C to HDMI cable from my MBP on my phone.

the truth is they most likely cost less...
Surprised nobody called you out on this yet... From where does your "truth" derive?
Yeah, the 5w chargers are a joke. Who even uses them? I have a drawer full of them still in the wrapper.
I use them-- they're all I need. End of the day, my X is still well over 60% full and charging overnight gives me no problems. I could use a bigger one at home, I suppose, but I much prefer the little guys when I travel. I'd use one to charge my iPad too if the iPad allowed it...

I'm rarely in a hurry to charge.

This is true iNovation! As always Apple leading the market foward
So basically if Apple doesn’t do it then “what the hell apple. Why not”

If Apple does do it you mock them for it with the usual “ohhh soooo innovative”.

So really. What are they supposed to do? Oh right. Not exist

They are supposed to do it earlier since they like to innovate so much instead of following others as it’s been happening since the iPhone 6.

I’m perplexed why it took them so long too but when they finally do it I don’t continue complaining or having an indignant attitude or something like Apple just peed in my Cheerios. I’m just glad they did it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they offer it separately for 3 easy payments of $79.99
We want time to perfect this product, so it will be arriving in early 2019.

*early 2019* We are delaying this product to make sure we get it right. Coming 2020.
