Oh no. Complaints will continue to roll in.Oh, good. standardizing USB-C across all apple chargers and cables. Now the people complaining about not being able to plug their phones into their MacBooks can finally shut up.
Lightning is the only way to go with the iPhone. If you disagree the you need to buy something other than an iPhone.I'll defend Apple for a lot of things, but sticking with Lightning is not only stupid, it runs counter to the argument Apple gives for sticking only USB-C/TB3 ports on the Macbooks. How about putting a USB-C port on the iPhone, and then include a USB-C-to-Lightning adapter to let people keep using any Lightning accessories they might have?
People will complain, but this is definitely better for the long run.
Why would people complain about finally getting a fast charger included?
Likely to minimise space inside of packaging, allowing for more units to be shipped in the same space with slimmer boxes, and reducing overall cost and environmental impacts caused by transport. There’s a lot of technology in these chargers.That design looks terrible! Why make it stick out so far from the wall? Especially with the wobblyness inherent in American and continental European plugs.
They’d better. I use the iPad brick to charge my phone because it’s so much faster. Even brings a dead phone back to life faster.
Apple just needs to get off their high horse for the better good of everyone and ditch lightning for USB C. One standard to rule them all!

If Apple went bankrupt you and the rest of us would be in a world of hurt.
Umm, it’s 2018 dude.

I’m beta testing one right now. Soon.

Time to upgrade for me then.

You are a very confusing person. Do you like iPhone or not? If not, whey are you here?
[doublepost=1525310618][/doublepost]
Agreed. I’ve stopped buying third party charging accessories and buy only Apple because I know their products work.
[doublepost=1525310895][/doublepost]
You have supported the wrong company.
[doublepost=1525311047][/doublepost]
What the heck are you doing to that poor iPhone?

Can you name a iPhone that does not slow down after 2 OS update?
By the time when Apple pushes the final update, these iPhone already slow as crap. iOS 7 on iPhone 4, iOS 9 on iPhone 4S and iOS 10 on iPhone 5? What is the point when you give x years of software update when that OS completely ruined the phone? I rather them stop supporting the devices and allow me downgrade to software that runs in acceptable speed.
You guys think Apple gave X years software support is great, in reality, it is stupid.
Phones are purely commodity. Anything money can buy is commodity. If my 300 dollars Android phone comes with quick charger and USB C cable and headphone, then $1300 iPhone X should.
And yes, Android phone offers similar support, experience and service Apple offers and sometimes better.
of course they would be. If they aren't this article wouldn't exist. If they were going to do that they would just do what they do now and thats to tell you to buy the 29w chargerIf you think Apple is going to put this in the box for free I got news for you it ain’t happening
(Thanks, ED!)
This should have happened last year with the iPhone 8 and especially the iPhone X. But no, they have to include the old USB-A cable so you need an adapter to connect it to a MacBook!
Apple can keep talking about how they are courageous to remove the headphone jack and push everyone forward using better connectors but they should really not half-ass the transition to USB-C without any good reason. The real courage would be to switch the lightning port to USB-C. Not only do we need two charging cables now for iPhone/iPad and MacBook but there is also no way to connect the lightning headphones to a Mac.
And yet you still spew lies. Smh I'm guessing you are just clueless, and like to spread rumors. Guess you didn't respond to my post from yesterday, cause you know I was correct. Do yourself a favor and educate yourself, before spreading fake information. Just about anyone with common sense, can Google/YouTube any comparisons to see how Android phones are superior to these iToys, which need to be charged multiple times a day.That's why we have iPhones. Because our batteries don't die before the end of the day (at least not for Plus or X iPhones) like robot phones do.
Yes, and I am asking how is Apple thinking this is even an option. I think the current state of advertising fast charging and then not including necessary devices to make it work is false advertising and should be punished.It could ship with the existing 5w and USB-A to lightning cable.
given the amount of devices I have with apple not sure I would want that as that would require more and different cables around.I got so excited when I saw in the title Apple is planning to use usb-c chargers because I thought that meant they were ditching the lightning port for it. Should've known better than to get my hopes up![]()
A Europlug has to be slim to fit into the various European sockets that are often recessed. The most common European socket is the Schuko socket which can take a round plug (with indentations at all four cardinal directions) or a smaller shape that fits into the round profile. The French socket is round as well but needs a hole in the plug for the ground contact (instead of using indentations). The Swiss socket requires a fairly slim plug.That design looks terrible! Why make it stick out so far from the wall? Especially with the wobblyness inherent in American and continental European plugs.
I can wake up at 7 and by the noon, my 6S will have less than 20% battery.
