Because its a 5w right?

I can never have enough fast chargers in the house
Because I am either charging it via a wireless charger or from an Anker usb hub which has a usb c port built in. I am not even using the 18 w charger that came with my 2018 iPad Pro. And while we are at it, the audio jack adaptor is still sitting untouched in my iPhone 8+ box.

I cant remember the last time I spoke well of Apple. I need to figure a way out of this eco-system prison. I can hope they put USB-C in the iPhone, but my cynicism which is bulletproof in recent years, suggest lightning ports are here for years to come.

I think the reason Apple don’t include a fast charger in the box is because they don’t recommend fast charging every time as it’s not good for the battery health.Occasionally is okay though that’s why they sell it separately. It’s not a problem for me as i rarely need to fast charge. My XS Max easily lasts a full day on a full charge with sometimes at least 30% left when i go to bed and that’s with regular use.I charge overnight whilst i sleep mostly with a wireless charger or the 5W plug.

I'm seeing a lot of negative reactions. I'm a big fan of USB-C. However, I don't think most people will care about this. Plus, it's just a charger. If you really like USB-C, you will already have such a charger.

Small thing is that you'll probably want a USB-C-to-Lightning cable and these are costly right now.

I cant remember the last time I spoke well of Apple.

Seriously, what are you doing on this site then? Complaining? That can't be good for your heart.

On a side note, John Gruber did speculate a while back that the reason for Apple not doing this could be simply that Apple just wasn’t able to produce 200 million fast chargers to go with every one of their iPhones. Doesn’t sound that impossible, when you consider that any change made to the iPhone needs to be able to scale to that amount in order to not create supply bottlenecks and impact sales.

I decided not to upgrade my iPhone X last year. I got the battery case and I've been happy. USB C could convince me to upgrade my phone, but it looks like it's not going to happen :(

I'm surprised if they even keep the lightning connector and force everyone to use wireless charging with future models.
Apple should have used thunderbolt from the beginning for fast syncing. I hate how syncing/backing up my iPhone takes over 20 minutes on a USB 3.1 port.

Seems very unlikely. IF they can produce 50 000 000 iphones, they can put an iPad charger in the box.

They def don’t care about those who plug in to back up. They want all wireless iCloud all the time.

Personally, I understand the security benefit of plugging in with a wired backup.

I hope they're expecting to sell less iPhones than they are this year lmao. Apple are just shooting themselves in the foot now. No direction, years behind on features, no parity between devices, broken keyboards, bent iPads...
Such a ridiculous analysis. They aren’t years behind on features (they are leading in many, like Mobile Silicon), there is tons of device parity, keyboards are a vocal minority, and iPads don’t bend unless abused.

Stop reading so many headlines at Macrumors.

No phone or tablet should come with a charger. Let the user buy what they want instead (fast/wireless etc).

No excuse for persisting with Lightning in 2019 though.
