I can't believe that they will still with the charger 5V. They use this charger since iPhone 4 ( 2010 ). Why the can't put the charger of iPad 2018 12W?

Apple's phone naming scheme is really confusing right now. Especially to average consumers. 9 years ago there was just the iPhone 4. Then they sold the older model for a cheaper price. No weird name like iPhone 4R.

Car model names are equally confusing and yet consumers figure them out. This is 2019 not 2010. I’ll give some credit to Apple consumers they can understand the price/value equation.

Nothing makes sense anymore, I think it's time for Phil to go as well. The marketing department made a mess of almost every product category, only the names of the services make sense nowadays. Now they want to get rid of the 'iPhone' brand as well? What about this year's naming scheme? iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Crazy. What's next? Rebranding of the iMac?

Fully agree!

Should just be iPhone / iPhone Max / iPhone Xr.

I don’t think we’ve seen 3-D Touch get so much advertisement as these rumours the last 2yrs lol.

IMac? Most macs don’t have an i-prefix and i can easily see them ditching it.
Same. Something like "Mac Studio" maybe? Since that's mostly what the iMac is used for anyway. And then the iMac Pro being renamed to "Mac Studio Pro"

After all, they don't have the iBook anymore, so why keep the other 20 year-old naming convention?

i want apple to build a house with entirely apple technology. the phones, tv, car in the driveway. everything. sounds like a joke but not really. someone can actually do this by copying an apple store and making the home look like that and then installing all kinds of apple products inside wherever applicable.

You do know that the notch is top notch technology right ? You can always use the older boring phones with huge bezels and see If that feels like innovation

I am a doctor (anesthesiologist). I use my phone at work (operating room and rescue helicopter) to look stuff up and make calculations in a hurry. Sometimes even to communicate with colleagues (obviously not on the helo).

I don't need my phone to be exciting. I need it to be practical (hence my desire for USB-C, so I don't have to carry different cables) and I need it to work the same in every condition.

You can imagine how well FaceID works while wearing a surgical mask or a helmet with sunglasses and an aviation microphone across my face.

I had an X for two weeks, sent it back and got an 8 Plus instead. It does the exact same things and it even allows me to see the battery percentage, which the notch forcefully hides (another lost feature which I use a lot).

Particular use case? Yes. But that's me. This is my opinion and my needs. I don't welcome the loss of TouchID and the replacement of it with FaceID. Neither are perfect technologies, but at the end of the day I still respect Apple for not dropping the 8 from the lineup so we can at least choose between the two.

Innovation for the sake of innovation is no good to me. Innovation must add functionality and possibilities, not shrinking bezels.

I'd give this a 0% chance. iPhone isn't just a strong brand, it's probably the most recognizable and successful product ever. From a sales & marketing perspective, this would be the biggest mistake Apple could make in just about anything they do.
The xs is now just a blank slab, how is that the most recognisable product ever, compare to a classic VW beetle, not even close... or concorde or many other classic products...

They got rid of "iBook" because it didn't have Mac in the name. That's not a problem with iMac. So dropping the "i" from iMac doesn't improve brand recognition.
I was talking more in terms of brand consistency than recognition. I don't think Apple really has that problem any more, even with their newer products and services. So feel like now they'll be focused more on uniformity.

Wonder if we're getting closer to a new naming convention.
Apple Watch
Apple Card
Apple Pay
Apple TV
Apple TV Plus
Apple Store
Apple Music
Apple Phone
Apple Pad/Tablet

it would basically force everyone to think and say the Apple brand every single time.
As iconic as the name iPhone is, Apple has definitely moved away from the ‘i’ in their naming convention so changing to Apple Phone is probably a good bet. I don’t know if it will happen this year, maybe more likely next year with the redesigned iP...I mean Apple Phone 12 Pro (or maybe just Apple Phone Pro 2020 edition).

Ever since the Galaxy S6, Samsung has been on a 2-year cycle of design. And there's even smaller and smaller difference after that (S9 to S10 is just Samsung adding a "notch" in form of a hole).

These last few years have generated great Samsung galaxy designs. However impossible, I really just want to buy a Samsung smartphone with IOS environment. That says a lot about Apple's design *cough Jony Ive cough*

At the face of it (notch aside), the xs then, imo, is no different than many android phones...just a blank slab.
No one was even talking about android phones, the point was the iPhone was one of the most recognisable products ever.. which it now clearly isn't..

Oh yes. I agree the iphone with the home button stood out and had a classic look to it. But now it doesn't stand out in a sea of phones, unless the screen is on.

Yep - so all the more reason not to repeat it this year

I agree with you. I can’t believe I’ll be keeping my phone for a 4th year. I was never a new every year guy but definitely a new every two my entire life until now.
