They Signed Newton for nearly ~$8,000,000, that’s hardly ‘cheap when compared to 4/5 million for other starting signed QB roles, especially if the NFL season is shortened.
Cam is still a marque QB that should be in the 25-30 range.

Yeah...maybe if he was in the league of Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, etc. Then I would agree with you with those numbers for a one year contract.😁

Well none of them are in the league of Mahomes.

I see it as that it’s a different generation of quarterbacks. Rogers, Brady, etc. they have been playing in the league for 15+ years, Mahomes has a long way to go, and that’s not side-tracking his talent, that’s just being real in terms of experience of two quarterbacks who have spent primarily their entire careers with the same team. Let’s see if Mahomes has that same track record in the upcoming years.

It's going to depend on the teams around him to see how successful he will be.

Gotta love the Pats. They get dinged for another spygate incident, and at the very same time sign Cam Newton, and the thing that is most talked about today is the signing of Cam Newton. Just another reason to hate the team I guess.

Yeah, they were waiting to announce signing Cam to bury the other news.

Mahomes is getting a 10 year extension worth $503,000,000.

I was expecting him to really get paid an astronomical amount, but yet I am still blown away by the number somehow lol.

Do you guys think the Chiefs can stay competitive over the next couple of years after paying one position (albeit the most important position) so much money? I feel like Mahomes is worth the money and he is a special player but if the chiefs can't afford to pay top defensive talent, top OL in the coming years it could set them up for some frustrating seasons....... The Patriots were able to sustain their dynasty because Brady kept taking below market contracts and Belichick knows how to win with a bunch of no-name players.

I thought the same thing when I saw how much he was going to get. While Mahomes is a great QB, I think this contract is going to be a boat anchor for the Chiefs.

The Broncos just took a hit. Von Miller suffered a possible season ending ankle injury on the last play of practice Tuesday. It was a non contact injury.

Football is back!!! woohooo!!!! I can't believe it... Feels like the Super Bowl was 5 years ago with all the crap thats been going on....I really hope this season goes off without a hitch.

That sucks man, you never like to see anyone get hurt but especially big stars who are essential to a team. It's always a downer.

For the first time in a looooong time, Bucs fans have much to look forward to this season. I'm not sure Tampa Bay has been so stoked about Opening Day as this year. Years past it was "how big of a dumpster fire will Jameis be?" or "when will the Glazers start looking for a new coach?" But now it's "can the Bucs actually play the Super Bowl in their home stadium?". Who'da thunk it...

Realistically, Brady is on the wrong side of 40, Gronk has been rebuilt so many times he's like Steve Austin, and who knows what Fournette will bring. But with the other skill position players and the defense, a playoff run isn't a pipe dream this year, and hopefully next, too. Time to quit prospecting and start playing, figure it out on the field.

Being in England will not prevent me from watching the game, will take a short nap, and be ready for the kickoff. I will miss the large crowd.

Speaking of crowds...

The Denver Broncos will be allowing 5,700 people to come watch their second home game. In a stadium that normally seats 76,000 this is only a 7.5% occupancy rate.

What is your home team doing?

Apparently my Seahawks won't have fans initially, of course, this is subject to change.
