2020 Macbook Air order status

Don’t give up yet! Just checked and my text from DHL came through at 1632 the day before delivery. That was the first I heard from them!

My estimated delivery date from Apple is 8th of May and I‘m getting really nervous as it still says „shipment information received“ since 27th of April.
Any update would be nice.

I ordered mine on April 18. It took awhile for an update. As of this morning, May 4 it was in Anchorage, Alaska. The key here is patience. With a new product and the Rona, it's longer than normal.
 
Ordered on the 16th. Arriving today. Was initially given a range of 1st through the 8th. So, the 4th is a pretty decent prediction.

I'm so used to the instant gratification of modern delivery. Having to wait has been new.

This is my first new computer that I have purchased in 20 years (a Gateway laptop). I've been building my own since then.
 
A week in and I cancelled my 2nd MBA before preparing to ship. This time I went with the updated Keyboard MBP base adding 16GB of ram for a modest $90. Funny the delivery date is about what my MBA was going to be.

That upgrade in RAM was a lot easier to add in the MBP. Hope you enjoy it, and you'll probably get a quicker delivery too!

With Apple's original delivery window rapidly closing, I'm considering the same. The Touch Bar is a sticking point though.

The TB seems to have users Hate it or Love it. I am one that it just doesn't matter that much to me. I have had a touch bar since my 2016MBP and I am typing on a pathetic keyboard on a 2017MBP. I use the touch bar more than I do the function keys on my mac mini apple KB. At least they brought back the physical escape key and I really dig finger print recognition.
 
Finally got my MBA today.. This is my first MacBook and I'll explore to see what I can do with it!

Apr 24 charged and preparing to ship
Apr 27 shipped
Apr 28 was supposed to deliver, but UPS kept delaying it
May 4 delivered.

Congratulations! I am also waiting for my MBA.. it says shipped on Saturday and UPS shows below in their tracking mechanism. Was this also same for you? Current date of delivery is 12th May.

Ordered 4/21 i5/16/512.
Charged 5/1
Shipped 5/3 via FedEx.

FedEx delivery says 5/7 by 10:30a. Apple says delivery by 5/12. Looks like others are in the same batch. Excited to get my hands on this. It will be the wife’s daily driver replacing 2015 15” MBP (base config).

Ordered 24/04
Card charged with pending charge: 30/04
Preparing to ship: 04/05
Shipped: 05/05

Shipped with UPS with estimated deliver on 12/05 on both the Apple Website and UPS app.

This is for a i5/16/256 gold one to the UK.

Mine changed to Preparing to ship yesterday, mid morning. Hoping it changes to Shipped today!
My estimate on Apple's website is 15-21 May, hoping its earlier.
 
Not sure what’s happening with mine. MacBook Air, ordered on 23/04/2020. Has been scheduled for delivery for today for a while. Gone from China to HK, to Dubai then Cologne, then was in Essex in the UK and now finally in Tamworth which is about 45 minutes from me. But it just says in transit now and has the delivery date removed. So no idea when it’s arriving.

Hope it’s shipped today for you! I drove myself insane by checking constantly to see if it had yesterday. Don’t do that.

a few weeks ago i ordered something and it was delivered by UPS. The note was to deliver say on a Wednesday. But the night before it said there were issues beyond it’s controlled. Still got delivered on Wednesday but it was later in the day, like at 5pm. Normally UPS comes at 1 to my place.

Ironically, after my prolific posting in this thread over recent days, I felt instant buyers remorse on opening up yesterday evening. The new 13" MBP doesn't cost much more than my i5 / 16 / 512 MBA, so quite sadly, I've initiated a return to Apple. Just for me, I'm in a position to trade off the extra 200g or so in exchange for the extra power.

For anyone still waiting for their Air, the MBA is a beautiful machine. The keyboard is way improved over the butterfly, the speakers are very good, the display is wonderful, and general system performance is snappy. Secretly I think I'm going to prefer the lack of touch bar on the MBA too. :)
