This is not correct. Mine was built in, and shipped from, China. I have never heard of a MacBook Pro production line outside of China.

Yeah it did sound rather odd to me. I asked him again and he confirmed again. He said the 16 comes from China still though.

Very odd. Don't quite believe it.

That is really strange. Why would they ship it to Ohio? What’s the latest update you have now?
Looks like it made it to Mount Hope early this morning. Still scheduled for tomorrow delivery but fingers crossed 🤞it happens today for us both!

That's awesome... Unfortunately, I think the odds of me getting mine before the weekend is very low. It didn't make it out of Louisville today, but now you have me wondering if they are going to route it through Mansfield OH. I wonder if they transported it there via plane or truck from Louisville? Trying to find UPS flights that go from Louisville to Mansfield OH but don't see any.

I just got a very strange update message on the UPS shipment. Says "Cleared Customs", but no location...

EDIT: And now UPS site is saying that I am scheduled for delivery tomorrow by 9PM. Wild....

Yeah I tired to look up the same last night and found nothing. I assume it was transported there via truck, maybe due to overload at the KY depot. Good news is if you’re package ends up there it shouldn’t take long to get to Hamilton.

As someone who works for one of Apple’s logistics partners. Everything comes in from China straight to Syncreon for the UK. Some forwarders may send stuff via other countries depending on their most favourable costing routes.

There is a US-based MBP production line that supplies Macs to the U.S. Government. I used to have a 2016 MBP that said "assembled in USA" on the bottom. My old 2009 iMac 27" was also assembled in the USA, but was purchased by an academic institution, not the federal government.

UPS delivering it tomorrow instead of Thursday 🤓

Got it early in the morning. It left Milan yesterday evening and had time to fly to Cologne on its way to Madrid... By the way the UPS dudes came in a private car (a lot are self-employed) and asked me for my name and that was it, no signature no nothing. I understand we are under kinda strict rules regarding Covid-19 and all but anyone could say it was me and take the laptop with them.

Nice keyboard on this thing 😍

Looks like no movement out of Osaka for me. Guess it will be another 24 hour wait before I see the next update.

i7/32GB/2TB - ordered May 20th
Estimated: May 28th-June 4th
Status: Processing, no CC charge

This is the higher end spec typically available in stock/at stores (in this case, has earlier ship dates/same ship dates as base configs), so hoping that speeds things up.

I mean... There's no penalty to returning even if it's opened and used the full 14 days, but at the same time if it's just going to be a day or two it seems silly to set up a new computer just to wipe it.

I'm thinking it's going to be about a week later. Still processing with May 28 - June 4 window but assuming it will be on the earlier side of that. Since it's essentially the same machine I could start getting it set up and use migration assistant for a quicker setup when the new one comes. We'll see how much will power I have. Also kids (6, 6, 10) are making their own "Avengers" movie in 4K that I have to help edit this weekend. It's only 10 minutes and my 2012 rMBP can do it but it's a little sluggish and gets noisy and hot.

That's what I'm hoping for too. Have a 10th gen i7/16GB/2TB coming today that I ordered on launch day but decided after shipping to return it and change to the same ultimate spec as you and hoping it's relatively speedy being a stocked unit. I have the same estimated delivery window. Fingers crossed.

My credit card still hasn’t been charged! I ordered 10th gen i7/16gb/1TB 13inch on May 6. My delivery estimate is June 1-June 8. A lot of you guys have gotten your MacBooks delivered already :(
Finally my card got charged today! Still no update on estimated delivery, but it looks like I’ll get it a week early! :)

I just got my shipping info and it’s coming from Pennsylvania. Should I be worried? 😂

Macs from PA are terrible. Only accept shipments from China. :)

On a serious note which config did you order.? I'm guessing some standard configs that were mass produced for retail stores and quick shipping are coming from US warehouses. I'm hoping mine does that and gets here sooner.

Same model, same order date, same country, but I have May 20th-May 28th. My mid-2014 15" is water damaged and barely limping along.

I hoping your dates are correct. Here's the latest.

UPDATE 1:

Damn, I'm so envious!!! Mine still shows that it's in Louisville. Growing frustrated by the lack of progress over the past 24 hours. Just checked again and no updates. My original shipping window was May 22 - 28th as well.

After reviewing your itinerary, I have a suspicion my shipment will follow the exact route your shipment took. I see they drove it from Louisville to Mansfield OH (4+ hour drive), then they drove it from Mansfield OH to Mount Hope, another 5+ hour drive, and have it out for delivery to you the very same day as it was received in Mount Hope. At least this is what I'm hoping will happen. I'll know more later this afternoon as I see your shipment went out from Louisville at around 5pm.
