Can't believe an internet forum has convinced me to sit here and look at a United Parcel Service flight tracking web page. Ah, the things we do when we're stuck inside.


Mine has also been delayed from 5/22 to 5/27.

LOL! It's just another tab open. You don't have to watch it as if you were on the plane following the flight progress from a headrest screen!

My package no longer shows on a truck for delivery and they added a second customs update. This is how much ups is sucking lately.

I am sorry to hear. Looks like you and me are the unlucky ones, so far. Hopefully yours comes tomorrow as it managed to make it on the delivery truck today.

I am still waiting to see if the UPS guy hits my address today. I very much doubt it, but a guy can hope!

Random ups update again, looks like I’m officially not getting it. And their basic math skills are about as good as their delivery skills as it notes one business day delay but delivery is now rescheduled to Monday from Thursday.

Right but that’s the same as the $1999 stock model isn’t it?

I know this is a couple of days old, but if you click on the $1799 model and bump that up to 1TB of storage and order it, you get a later delivery date than if you just order the $1999 model and make no changes. I know they're the exact same machine at the same price, but I think once you make that change on the $1799 model it's no longer considered a base model in their system and it's delayed for the "customization." It makes no sense, but it is what it is. I almost ordered the $1799 with the 1TB storage when my husband pointed out it was the same as the $1999 model, so I clicked on that and got an earlier delivery date.

That's crappy, so sorry to hear that... Hopefully it won't be too much longer... who knew the wait could be this painful. UPS is my least favourite. I only ordered from Apple directly because I got 32GB of RAM, otherwise would have ordered locally. Although I did get a discount via my wife's employer discount so there was that too.

Keep us posted - good luck, hopefully it comes before the weekend at least.

If it doesn't come before the weekend, there might still be hope. I know the Concord facility had drivers out this long weekend, both Saturday and Monday. Perhaps they will work on Saturday again. Drivers have the option to clear the backlog, I believe.

Currently 32 miles away due to be delivered tomorrow but strangely, payment was taken earlier this week but transaction disappeared from my online banking yesterday and the money has come back?

UPS says they're still on track for delivery today but the last update is an import scan from 7am today. Wondering which version of UPS I'm gonna get today 😄

In all seriousness, I can't imagine what it's like working for a delivery company these days. Not only are you busier than normal you gotta deal with all the stuff that comes with working during a pandemic.

He said it should be delivered sometime next week “hopefully”. This is typical of the Hamilton UPS depot as of late.

So...next is Louisville right? I'm in California--gonna be soo painful to watch it zig-zag all the way from Louisville to here...sigh.

I just went down to the depot and hung around outside the loading door like a weirdo until someone came over to see what I wanted lol. Got them to check the package for me. He showed it to me in their system, it is still on the truck from last night and there’s a 4 day delay at the depot emptying trucks - it was never on the truck for delivery today although I have a screenshot showing such. Glad you were able to get a straight answer, at least. Now you know when to expect it. If the Hamilton depot is four days behind, I don't even want to know how bad the Concord depot is doing.

I can honestly say I am not even excited for this thing to arrive anymore. Would rather Apple just refund me and be done with it so I don't have to deal with UPS.

Absolutely inept delivery service. COVID or not. Have always had issues with them.

The escape from Osaka was successful!

So I already have the ANC-SDF flight cued up PLUS I checked to see which flights are scheduled to leave from SDF after the ANC-SDF flight lands. Looks like I have 2 options for heading to the Chicago-Rockford distribution hub. If my package makes it on one of those, there's still hope!

yeah, it goes through Louisville according to what other people have said! I guess it’s possible it will go straight from Anchorage to the west coast, but I think their main hub is Louisville so my guess it’ll go there.

Do you know your regional distribution hub? Search to see if a flight will leave from ANC to that area overnight.

So UPS says it'll be here the 27th and Apple is now saying it'll be here on 28th. Clearly between the two of them, Apple and UPS can't find their proverbial ass with both hands.

That's crazy... clearly if its taking them that long to empty trucks they need to hire a few more people. It's funny though that you went there but not funny that you still walked away empty handed. All I can say in the few hours I've been using it is that the wait is worth it! Keyboard is awesome and this thing is an absolutely beast. I've been installing apps non-stop including Parallels to run VM and the fans haven't even turned on once. Hang in there!

There are social distancing rules businesses have to work around now, it's not an issue of hiring more people. There is more demand and more red tape to work around as the industry adapts.
