CC Sabathia says Yankees were 'cheated' out of title in 2017
He's right, the Yankees and more so the Dodgers have every reason to gripe and complain.
Agreed. This is a very bad thing for baseball.

Back in June 2019, after a weekend where Cora's Red Sox gave up 29 runs over two games to the Yankees during their London series, the Boston manager sat down in front of the media and tried to diagnose what exactly went wrong over those 18 innings. He was complimentary toward the opposing team, calling them "a good offensive team," "a lot better than last year," and calling their attention to detail "phenomenal." But then, seemingly out of nowhere, Cora brought up a joke he was telling someone about the Yankees' personnel.
"I was joking with someone that [the Yankees'] biggest free agent acquisition was Carlos Beltran," Cora said, before giving one of the most conspicuous winks possible. "I know how it works, you know? He's helping a lot. They're paying attention to details and we have to clean our details."
Shortly after that, Cora gave another unprompted comment, as if he was trying to backtrack from something he said earlier. (Emphasis my own).
"It was eye-opening the last few days, from top to bottom," he said. "And I'm not saying devices and all that stuff, it's just stuff that the game will dictate and will scream at people and is right there. Throughout the evening, I was looking and I saw it, you know? And right now they're a lot better than us, so we need to get better."
They didn't have a choice either. Now we have 3 teams all looking for new managers with 3 weeks to go.Nicely done, Mets.

The Nationals might have something to say about that.Talk about crunch time! Yikes...
I would like to be at the stadium when the Astros receive their world series rings and or raising of the banner. It would be priceless of someone put an asterisk on it! I know, it won't happen, but it would be funny!
On one hand, it is nicely done, but I can see them avoiding a PR nightmare. MLB named Beltran as an involved party but chose not to punish the players, he was in an odd position since he transitioned over to being a managerNicely done, Mets.

Without question, this would have distracted them so much especially at a time where they're trying to improve the team.True, but the Mets made the right decision. Otherwise they would be dogged with questions for the entire year.

A lot of players are not happy about this. I can see this really straining the union. So it seems the astro cheating controversy won't go away quietly. It seems that people are now saying they wore devices. MLB seems to want to sweep this under the rug but there's more and more [questionable] images of the Astros having something under their uniforms.
So is Mike Fiers a hero or a coward? He didn't report the cheating right away, while he was still on the Astros. He didn't make a complaint through MLB channels. He went straight to the media, as I understand it. I think I come down somewhere in between: a hero-coward or a coward-hero. He should have done it sooner, and in a different way.
For me, it comes down to... he finally did the right thing, and no one else who was involved in this scam came forward.
I can see why. Houston players actively cheated but only the GM and manager were punishedA lot of players are not happy about this. I can see this really straining the union.
Rob Manfred and the MLBPA agreed to exclude player punishment in conjunction with the Astros cheating scandal in exchange for complete and honest testimonies against the Astros.
This is probably closer to the truth as to why no players were punished and why MLB wants to quickly, and quietly move beyond this scandal.
New Report Reveals MLB and Astros Players Struck Bargain for Immunity in Cheating Scandal
Its not (and I'm not condoning anything), but would MLB really have been able to get to the bottom of the issue if all the players (fearing retribution), clammed up since they could not be compelled to talk?Wow, that is not right.
