This is the Dombroski fallout. They can't dumb Sale, they got out of the last 2 years of Price, even though I think they are eating most of it. Mookie probably didn't want to sign in Boston and his price was going to be close to $400 million. The Red Sox really boxed themselves into a corner, plus they have the fines from MLB lurking in the shadows.So Mookie and Price are now dodgers. I'm happy to see Price gone, I never really was a fan, and the cost of him on the books was excessive. I can see why mgmt wanted to move on from Mookie, as they want to go into full rebuild mode.
With so much issues swirling around the red sox, this will probably be a year that people will look to move on from. The red sox are still waiting for MLB to drop the hammer on and I wouldn't be surprised if it was similar to Houston, though maybe less severe.
