Apple realised shuffling the cameras around is enough design differentiation to call this 13 rather than 12S, much like the iPhone 11 did.

What happen to the rumour of no more iPhone 13 Mini /s

All we need to know is if the iPhone 13 Mini offer slightly Better battery life.
Pretty sure it will, because 1) bigger battery, 2) more power efficient A15 SoC, 3) more power efficient modem for calls and data, 4) probably more efficient screens if they finally adopt LTPO for all the lineup.

Maybe I’m a bit optimistic 🤷🏻‍♂️

I used to upgrade every 1-2 years. I have an iPhone XS and I don't want to wait forever. Do I wait another year for the return of Touch ID and the removal of the notch?

Face mask thing aside, I think anyone who prefers Touch ID over Face ID is bonkers!!

The notch will get smaller but if you're expecting it to disappear any time soon, you're going to be disappointed.

I thought it might have been 12S until the rumours about smaller notch and thicker body and larger camera bumps started coming. More than very superficial aesthetic changes usually mean it won't be an S variant.

The reason Apple always takes their time with stuff like this is because they actually work to make it great, in contrast to some other companies. You really should stop assuming that all under screen fingerprint sensors are as bad as the one in your current phone.
You are funny. Face ID wasn't all that great in the beginning.

For the first time since 2010, I'm not updating each year. I purchased an iPhone 11 in 2020 and won't update until around the end of 2022. The Pro Max models are getting a bit pricey for me.

The report follows recent discussion surrounding the name of the upcoming iPhones. A survey indicated that one out of five iPhone and iPad users are put off by the prospect of an "iPhone 13" due to triskaidekaphobia, a fear of the number thirteen.
Good thing Apple never released something like iOS 13 or macOS 10.13 or a 13" MacBook.

Oh, wait...

We know a phone will be released this year. It's not been confirmed until now that it's being called the 13. It could've been the 12S or the 14 or something else.....and frankly this story doesn't really confirm anything. Until Apple calls it the iPhone 13 in September, it's just the next iPhone.
Read what wrote again. Yes, it has already been confirmed internally & at factory level that the next iPhone is iPhone 13. Apple internally already have the Marketing material!

Do you really think Apple won't know until September? 🙄🤦‍♂️

Please point to where I said that?

WE won't know until September when Apple announces it is what my post stated in different words. I know reading comprehension is hard.

Production of the 12 Mini was ended early. But it still looks like new 5.4 inch models (13 mini?) will be made. According to this article, it will be built by Pegatron.
I read that as Megatron. 🤣
Why can't we have the mini with the triple camera setup though. 🤔

Should get all naming on a model year basis and just call it:

iPhone 22

running

iOS 22.

Similar for all other products and OS’s. Would be much less confusing.

Honestly I think Apple should just give up on the pro naming convention and simply the lineup.
13 mini, 13, 13 max.
Give all the sizes the same features ( I don't want to hear any excuses just make it work) .
Have to storage sizes be: 128 gig and 512 gig .
it just simplifies everything. Makes it easy for the consumer, makes it easy to sell, makes it easy to not need to manufacture that many different options that don't sell. It's a win all around. Apple will never do it.

Considering how much Americans love conspiracies and omens, I feel this was a bad move.
12S seems more appropriate anyway.

I am certainly hoping that is true.
