Just don't do an in screen finger print sensor. I have an Oppo Find X2 Pro (or whatever its called) and it's the best phone I've ever used but.............. the in screen finger print sensor sucks. Face ID is fine, there is not need to go back to fingerprint sensors other than virtual signalling the mask wearers.
I guess due to posting rules I can't give you my true response to your post.

I'm hoping Apple will be sensible and price the iPhone 13 Mini at $50 less than the 12 mini. like at $679 USD unlocked which converted to CAD is $837 which would be around $879-899 CAD. That would be a insta-buy for me.

The upcoming 2021 iPhone will be named "iPhone 13" with the naming scheme of "mini," "Pro," and "Pro Max" variants for the entire lineup, according to the Economic Daily News.

According to the report, citing sources and "supply chain" checks, Apple plans to market the upcoming iPhones as the "iPhone 13." Furthermore, the report says that Apple will stick with the "mini," "Pro," and "Pro Max" terms for the different variants, all set to launch in September.

From the report (machine translation):
The report follows recent discussion surrounding the name of the upcoming iPhones. A survey indicated that one out of five iPhone and iPad users are put off by the prospect of an "iPhone 13" due to triskaidekaphobia, a fear of the number thirteen. Instead, 38% of survey participants said they would like Apple to drop the corresponding number altogether and name each iPhone release moving forward based on the year, such as iPhone (2021).

Just 13% of iPhone and iPad users surveyed said they would like Apple to name the upcoming iPhone the "iPhone 12S." Apple last used the "S" suffix in an iPhone name with the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max in 2018, one year after the iPhone X. The "S" nomenclature is usually reserved for smaller incremental updates in annual iPhone releases. The iPhone 6S, for example, offered only minor improvements compared to the iPhone 6 a year earlier.

Based on what we know so far, the 2021 iPhone will feature some notable improvements, such as a more advanced display thanks to ProMotion 120Hz variable refresh rate and always-on capabilities. However, Apple may feel that the changes in the new iPhones warrant an entire number increase, rather than simply tacking on an "S" for the first time in three years.

12S … revolutionary is always N+1, evolutionary is (N+1)S. That said do you think Apple would risk alienating all those stupid superstitious people!!!

I was a huge SE fan, and begged Apple to bring back the smaller screen size. But opted for the XR while waiting. Found the XR too big for one-handed use. Was very frustrating typing/chatting while walking or trying to take photos with one hand.

The wifey has the latest SE and now I find the screen Too Small! hahaha. I much prefer the larger screen now, mostly since apps still fail to properly support the smaller screen size, so it feels like a half-ass experience of "scrolling a screen" just to see the whole thing.

But maybe I'll look at the mini one more time.

Apple not interested in numerology and yet Google seem almost obsessed by it.
Simple example is google's DNS server 8.8.8.8.
The word Google itself in numerology is 2 hidden 8's expressing as a 7 (search for knowledge) on the outside.
You'd think that's just coincidence but then Google goes and creates a new company, Alphabet, which has both master numbers (11,22).
The number 4 (which 13 reduces to in numerology) is avoided in east asian counties as it is symbolic of death (the 13th card of a Tarot deck is Death).
Check into a Chinese or Korean hotel and you'll find there is no 4th floor and no 13th floor.
Finally China hosted the Olympics back in 2008. The games began on 08/08/08.
So maybe Apple doesn't care about the symbology of numbers but there's millions out there who do so it does seem like a valid article by MR and a questionable marketing decision by Apple.
Let's hope that this iPhone isn't Apple's own Apollo 13.

The S versions are typically the ones you always hoped the non S should have been.

Doesn’t sound like much of an upgrade compared to a 12 at present but coming from an XS/11 series you will probably be happy.

Not all in screen scanners are the same. I don’t think apple was going to do it but the pandemic has forced apple to be ready for a future pandemic.

Please point to where I said that?

WE won't know until September when Apple announces it is what my post stated in different words. I know reading comprehension is hard.
How many times?

The...next...iPhone...is...called...wait for it, iPhone 13.

There you go,..now you know in July. You're welcome.

How is this news?

seems to be debate on 12S vs 13

To me 120hz and a smaller notch seem like decent updates especially if the 11 and 12 were worthy of “numbered” upgrades

this would be the first change to the notch since 2017

further, the numbers are very straightforward marketing

but who knows.

we have iOS 15 and A15 coming soon…apple isnt shy to use numbers for generations

And Westerners are nowhere near as superstitious as Asians... generally speaking. That's one of the reasons we didn't get a 9
I would've assumed the numbers like 4 and 14 would be much worse, because anything to do with "4" is a very unlucky number for the Chinese and some other Asian folks.

What happen to the rumour of no more iPhone 13 Mini /s

All we need to know is if the iPhone 13 Mini offer slightly Better battery life.
Apparently you didn’t read any of them. They have all literally said the mini will be dropped after this years iPhone.

How can you consider yourself cool, and not have the iPhone mini? :p You need to revisit the mini. You don't want to end up in divorce court and married to an Android obsessed girl years later.

Luckily, the same superstitious idiots who believe a number somehow violates all known laws of physics and causes unfavorable events in their life should be easily manipulated by an ad campaign to help them getTF over it.
