I was not expecting Cleveland to win, the talking heads last night were falling over themselves at how great Burrow is, and while the Bengals failed to get a quick start to the season they've hit their stride - they may have but the browns punched them in the nose.

Talk about taking their lunch money and then while they are down, punching them in the nose. Good lord, the Browns handled them and handled them with ease to be honest.

Cinci was a fluke last season. They got a great QB and one great receiver, Chase. (Higgins is good, but he's not Chase). And with a guy like Chase out...you get beat by the Cleveland Browns.

To be sure. the Bengals were the very definition of a Cinderella team. In a weird way, I wonder if getting to the SB so quickly is now going to make it harder on them in the long run. What I mean by that, is now they may think they're at a level or maybe one player away from going back, where as if they didn't make it, then they'll be move focused on continually trying to improve all aspects of the team.

Just my $.02 - by the way, if you didn't notice, I tend to over-think on everything, and that's just one example :)

And if you're going to wear an alternate white helmet you damn sure should wear it against a team that is wearing an orange helmet, right?

Refs doing their best to help Philadelphia. Two missed Philly false starts and a missed pulling a runner forward and a weak PI against Houston.

Amazing game, Alabama and LSU. LSU goes for 2 in OT to win it. Balls of steel.
I actually prefer college games over the NFL, its a better product, players tend to play harder and there's a lot less prima donna crap

I usually don't root for Alabama, but given how Kelly left Notre Dame for LSU, I was rooting for Alabama. This season Nick Saban's team is very un-alabama like and unsurprisingly they lost - I was hoping they'd pull it off but they came up short.

Pretty sure there is a college football thread.. but I'll allow this...

Sadly UT was ranked #1 a little prematurely. I think that ranking gave Georgia even more incentive.

How about the packers - wow.

So who do you think is on the hot seat at this early juncture?
My guesses are:
Kliff Kingsbury
Josh McDaniels
Frank Reich
Nathaniel Hackett

One of them won't last the season imo. I'm sure there's others but these are the folks that its getting mighty uncomfortable, especially if they see a meeting invite from their boss

I think Hackett and McDaniels will get another season by the Broncos and Raiders. I think Reich and Kingsbury are the most likely to go.

Ypu win the lottery - Reich is gone.

A few years ago, that would have been inconceivable.

Looks like Thursday night football on Amazon is off to a rocky start.
From googling it appears that some of the weeks in October, hit only about 7 million people
Amazon’s TNF hits third-straight low opposite ALCS, NBA
NFL game viewership lower with Thursday night shuffle

Viewership of "Thursday Night Football" on Amazon has become a slow drag on the NFL’s overall numbers through Week 8, with average viewership now down 5% after being up earlier in the season. All NFL games are averaging 15.7 million viewers to date, down from 16.5 million at the same point in 2021 (which also was the best start for the NFL since 2015). Compared to two years earlier, however, the NFL is up 4% -- even with the "TNF" move.

I was prepared to say that this isn't an Amazon thing but a weak schedule, but I think there may be something regarding having games behind a paywall. I was wrong about the weak schedule, yes there's been some, but there's also been some really good matchups - at least on paper. I'm a bit surprised at how many good matchups there are

Please note that week 12 is Thanksgiving and no game is being shown on Amazon and there doesn't seem to be an Amazon game on week 18 Source

Vikings vs Bills, Seahawks vs Bucs and Cowboys vs Packers look like the most fun games to me. The Chiefs have an easy game vs the Jaguars.
