they need a new OC. The play calling has been substandard.
I truly believe if they had an actual, experienced OC and QB coach, they would be in a better position. Maybe not a better record, who can tell, but things would be looking up. I don't see things looking up right now.

I think it takes time for a coaching team and a QB to develop, but to have an inexperienced coaching team and an inexperienced QB is a bad recipe. To be successful you need to have knowledge in depth of how the game works in all its facets. I’m not sure if Belichick respects other people’s talent and experience enough.

Yes, but I do believe that you have offense minded coaches and defense minded coaches. No one ever said that Bill Bilicheck is an offensive genius, defensive, yes, but no offensive. Yet he's basically asking Matt Patricia to do just that. What makes matters worse, is I don't think Patricia is a very good coach in the first place, so basically he has two strikes already.

Just my opinion, but the Patriots showed how bright the future could be last year, and to say they took a step back this year is a massive understatement.

So I see OBJ visited the Giants, as he looks to sign with a team. Truth be told, I don't see him returning. The spot light glared brightly in NYC and honestly, I don't think he was able to handle it. While the giants have improved greatly, I think there are other teams that more likely to be contenders. I see the Cowboys being a team needing just a small push to break though to a higher level and go deeper (if not all the way) in the playoffs with OBJ

I still don't think his head/attitude is right.

He's going to go somewhere and not get enough attention and then cause trouble in the locker room.

The Pats are still rebuilding, they need a quality WR or two and Mac needs a couple of years to mature. And yes, they need a new OC. The play calling has been substandard.

I don't know about Mac. He might have Baker disease - great first year, then...nothing. I know his receivers suck, and play calling is terrible, so he may still have hope. But I am not holding my breath.

I disagree. OBJ LOVES the spotlight. One of the reasons he signed with the Rams is because he likes the LA life. But the Giants did him once, I would be surprised to see him return. And Buffalo is just too small of a pond to satisfy OBJ's ego, despite his buddy Von being there. Dallas maybe...

Game of the week in my Que:

Miami versus 49ers.

I really like what Miami is doing, and actually, this is the team that I really want to see win the Super Bowl, although that’s a bit far-fetched at this point quite yet. Tua and Jayden Waddle are akin to what Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers were in Green Bay. Really dangerous duo and the team feeds off that tempo.

On the flipside, Jimmy, Garoppolo and the 49ers have had some really good games recently and with the off-season negative chemistry in that club, I didn’t project them to be 7-4 at this point, so I also would like to see them do really well in the playoffs, assuming they finish strong in the final stretch of their schedule.

Point spread:

Miami-24—49ers-17

I wonder if this is the week the Cleveland Browns regret mortgaging their next 10 seasons on Watson.

My take is that his contract for this year is so low, and the free agents they picked up, appear to be a move to be a win now mentality. Except they can't win now. There chance of making the playoffs is lol and after this year their available cap space is going to be tough to manage.

Regarding the rams - with Kupp and now Stafford on the IR, I'd say their season is all but over.

For us Buffalo fans, a perfect week. Bills win, Chiefs and Dolphins lose, giving Buffalo the number one seed. On top of that, I squeaked out a win in my fantasy league, moving me to second place (top 4 make playoffs), after starting 3-6 and winning 4 in a row.

What pizzzzes me off is, I lead my league in scoring - and lead it in points given upon too. Which is just luck because you can't do anything about points against. But I'm on a streak.

As expected, Deshaun Watson looked terrible. If he regains form, it won't be until next season.
I think we've probably seen the best of Watson already, at least with the Cleveland Browns anyway. I give him a pass for a few games to get back into playing shape, but I just don't think he's all that he is cracked up to be. As a Browns fan, I hope I'm wrong.

Really? I didn't see the game, nor did I see any highlights.

I just popped over to ESPN and yeah, his numbers look horrible, and getting booed at home. I'm sure the booing will subside as the season progresses, but its got to be an embarrassment to the front office

That's what some people are wondering. Being out of football for two years, its not just rust but I do suspect he'll get better each week. The Brown's schedule doesn't help him though

And in other fun news, the Panthers are waiving Baker Mayfield. Insert shocked faces here.

The ones who should be waived are the Panthers leadership for even bringing him in.

The Browns may have made a very expensive mistake.

I saw that, and I see the chatter is that another team may claim him, just to keep him off the SF roster - not sure of the 49ers are interested or not, but they now have a need

Actually, Brock Purdy played pretty well. Baker would be a step down.
