After only 2-3 days with the Rams, Baker Mayfield engineered a game winning 98 yard drive with less than 2 minutes on the clock and no timeouts.

Who’d a thunk it?!?

While it is an impressive feat, I've been watching sports TV and apparently all of Baker's problems at QB are gone now with this one win, based on how everyone is losing their bleep over it.

Baker has always been great at improvising. His tenure at Oklahoma is him just running around avoiding hits to chuck the ball. I think game management and planning is where things start to fall apart. Admittedly, the rams even without Kupp offer Mayfield the best opportunity to succeed.

WAIT.

I didn't watch the game. Mayfield started and got the game winning drive?

God we're sh*t.

He didn't start, he game in on the second drive I believe.

He's a good QB, and I think with the right coach, and the right team around him, he can be very successful - not Tom Brady successful, but certainly better then he's shown while a Panther. We saw sparks of that while he was in Cleveland.

I think if Cleveland didn't pursue Watson, he could have been very successful this year, but the relationship soured, mostly due to how the front office and coaching staff treated him imo

Agreed, the Browns front office treat Baker like crap.

I agree.

Sucks that he had something to prove against us... but here we are...

I'm really impressed with Purdy - Jimmy G and Trey Lance may have competition if he continues playing the way that he is.

I see the Giants and Seahawks lost, which is rather interesting for setting up the wildcard in that division, where if the Packers can win their last four games, they actually could place a wildcard spot. But it’s all dependent if the Giants and Seahawks continue to end the season, at least 1-4 for the remaining games. There’s a lot that can happen in the next three weeks, given that division is teetering for multiple teams on that wildcard spot line.

In terms of the Eagles, I can’t believe how high of a scoring team they are. They’re averaging anywhere from 32 to 46 per points per game. That’s pure lunacy. Not only that, but they’re so offensively confusing, no team can figure out their pass play or run game, which is destroying defenses.

The wild car races are certainly tightening up. The AFC, its very tight. The patriots are on the outside looking in, but a win tonight will cause them to leap frog both the chargers and Jets due to tie breakers. I don't actually think they'll win tonight, but if they do, their future is in their control

If he can get some good coaching then he could be a reliable backup for a long time. It's once teams have a chance to plan for him is where it goes south. But thrown in for a game or two, he could do a good job.

Looks like Washington activated Wentz off the IR. I think Heinicke won the job however and and he'll be riding the bench.

Patriots did rather better than expected last night against the Cardinals, who were without QB Kyler Murray. I wonder if they might still make the play-offs.

Maybe...?

7 teams from each league will make it but I believe anything can still happen with a few of the teams below (or level with them in the loss column) the Pats in the standings.

I believe as of right now they are the 7th seed in the AFC.

That sucks about Murray.
Report: “Little doubt” Kyler Murray has torn ACL

I hope this doesn't impact him, after he rehabs, like how RGIII never was the same.

Keyword - right now. Next week could be a trap game. Its dangerous to ignore the raiders, and then they face Cincy, Miami, and buffalo, where as the Jets have a bit of an easier schedule. Their destiny is certainly in their hands, if they win they're in but its going to be an uphill battle.

I loved reading through the article you posted especially the parts about how teams have been eliminated and how some of them have the worst record in X division or all of football. So brutally honest, I had to chuckle and of course send it to my friends who are fans of those teams sitting at the bottom!

It's the worst.
I get it. What is frustrating to me, and presumably many other fans, is Belichik personal moves - not to beat a dead horse, but those moves were just pouring gas onto the fire of our discontent.

If they struggled to win games, but Mac Jones was still showing improvement, that would be one thing, but BB is at risk of ruining a gifted quarterback. He showed so much promise last year and now because of the coaching changes its all gone to pot

Belichick has always drafted "weird." But lots of rookie QBs hve promising rookie seasons, then fall apart. Like Baker. So who knows about Mac. But then you got Patricia calling nothing but screens, dumpoffs and short passes...Not sure what he's afraid of. Does he not think Mac can handle throwing downfield?

Oh no question sophomore years prove to be difficult for many young Qbs, but I view Mac Jone's regression to be different.

BB hired a mediocre defensive coordinator (Matt Patricia) to be the OC, and hired Joe Judge, a special teams coach to be Mac's QB coach, things started to fall apart. Belichick had a playoff contending team, and hired two coaches and put them into positions where they had no experience. There's no question the team and Mac Jones was going to pay for that level of inaptitude.
