Well that and the fact that the Pats were seriously out classed on the field.
Out classed doesn't even begin to describe the beat down that occurred, and how much the Bears were so far out of the Pat's league in every facet of the game.

Yeah that Bears team still makes me shudder.

And, on a side note, I'm still a little pissed for Walter Payton. They let "The Fridge" score a TD but Payton never got the chance. :(

Given their dominance, they really should have been a dynasty but they were more of a flash in the pan. They were still good in the subsequent years but bowed out of the playoffs rather early.

Thankfully so. I hated them.

Well THE RAIDERS are done... finally. That nightmare is over.

I can't say it was a merciful ending, but at least the nightmare known as 2022 is done for the Raiders. Now the question becomes, what will they do? Moving on from Carr is obvious, but will McDaniel's retain his job - if I was a betting man, I'd say he will

Not for nothing, today's slate of games has actual meaning. Very few playoff bound teams will have the opportunity to rest their starters. I know by and large the franchises, players (and fans) are unhappy with how the NFL chose to handle the seeding and I'm not disagreeing BUT one positive outcome is that today is pivotal for nearly everyone.

Yeah I think it will cost too much to fire McDaniels. :(

Sources: Sean McVay's future as Los Angeles Rams coach in limbo

I just wonder if his heart is no longer in it. Falling short after wining the Super Bowl is not unheard of, what is rare, is the winning team returning to the super bowl. Yet he seemed to struggle last year as to whether he keep coaching or pivot to a new, less demanding career.

I'm on the outside looking in, but from where I sit, having one the Super bowl, what else is there to achieve. He's climbed the Mt. Everest of Football. Its great if you can ascend to the summit again, but its different. When you're on top, the only place to go, is down

Similar to Cowher, but didn't coach as long. If you can go to the booth/studio and make a few million a year without the stress, why not.

Good point regarding Cowher. I loved watching the steelers when he was their coach. I'm no Steelers fan, but you couldn't help but root for them as you saw him, with his chin jutting out, he's yelling/spitting and just being so intensive.

He won it at 37, most coaches in their 60's haven't won.

Black Monday predictions - who do you think will be let go tomorrow?
I'll start
Arizona Cardinals - Kingsbury. I think the odds are high that he'll be gone. I didn't really understand why the owner gave him an extension when his record was not great, particularly because the Cardinals tended to fade later in the season - just like Texas Tech when Kingsbury was the coach

Washington Commanders - Ron Rivera. He may get another year, he certainly has been performing better then prior WSH coaches but you never know with this owner

Dark horse entries (maybe but probably not)
Las Vegas Raiders - McDaniels. His seat is hot, but I don't think Davis will fire him, if for no other reason then the cost of his contract.

Miami Dolphins - Mike McDaniel. I didn't think his seat was hot but there are rumors if they lose today he could be out.

Houston Texans - Smith. The Texans haven't really done anything but like the Raiders it doesn't make sense to fire Smith so quickly.

Kingsbury just got resigned and coach's contracts are guaranteed. I'd be surposed if they let him go.

Rivera said he didn't know they could be eliminated last week. Not a good loook.

MIke McDanioel - on the surface, no. But if they don't make the playoffs with that roster on offense, that will be tough.

They should never have fired David Culley last year. He was a good coach. The team is basically the same but the managed more wins under Culley.

Keep Lovie. The team needs a bit of stability. New coach ever year? They'll be the next Breveland Clowns.😑

I think both the Pats and Dolphins are going to lose, and that will open the door for the Steelers to sneak into the playoffs. Obviously they will need to win their game, but I think they're more likely to win then pats/fish

Texans fired Lovie Smith.

Like David Culley before him, he refused to let the team tank for #1 overall pick. That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it.🤨

Texans are a garbage organization in my book now. #2 pick would have been the same as their #1 pick, since da Bears already have their franchise QB.
