Jimmy Garoppolo passed his physical?

So Raiders' money will start to flow into his bank account after all.

I wonder if being away from the 49ers offense will make any difference in how many games he gets in before being injured?

So some changes are afoot.
Giants: Barkley signed a contract worth about 11 Million - a tad more then the franchise tag. Personally, I think this was a mistake. He basically caved, and since the deadline for a multi-year contract has come and gone, there's no reason to sign now. I do believe without Barkley they have no offense, and the giants may have been more pliable to an offer after losing the first few games.

Bills: RB Hines had a horrible and devastating non-football injury, he's out for the season and this will certainly impact the Bills negatively in such a competitive division

Chargers: Herbert agree to 5-year, $262.5M deal. Good for him, I guess the details are not yet available, but with the Chargers near the cap space they may not have a ton of wiggle room to improve the team.

I'm of two minds when it comes to large contracts, I firmly believe each player should definitely fight for every penny they can, its only going to go into the owners bank account, BUT in this day and age of cap space, an argument can be made for taking a team friendly contract giving the team more flexibility in signing/keeping other players - Brady/ The patriots did that and I believe that played a part in their ability to have such a potent dynasty.

This covers my thoughts exactly. Makes no sense and I posted. He had some (not a lot) leverage, and its clear in this day and age, running backs are not valued, but to fold like superman on laundry day - well that's unfortunate.

This is more of a statement of who Barkley is as a person. Sure he wanted a longer contract with more guarantees, but he wants to be there for his team. I hope he plays well and has a healthy year. Then maybe the cheap ass owners will reward him or let him walk.

Agreed. He made the best of a bad situation. Barkley won't quit his team or start making up injuries. I still say Lamar wasn't as hurt as he claimed he was.

Looks like the Bills don't want to pay Hines his full salary and/or bonus since he got injured in a non-football related activity.
Nyheim Hines, Bills at odds over financial consequences of his non-football injury
Because Hines suffered a non-football injury, his salary of $2.56 million gets wiped away, without question. Things get sticky on the question of whether and to what extent Hines owes money back to the Bills.

Bills, Nyheim Hines in contract dispute after jet ski accident

The Bills are open to paying Hines the practice squad minimum of $289,000, instead of the $500,000 he would have received with his full signing bonus and the workout bonus.

Buffalo can keep that money or seek the $1.5 million signing bonus allotment from Hines’ previous contract with the Colts, according to the report, which could potentially lead to a formal grievance from Hines.

I think the bills may be playing with fire since if they push too hard they'll have a disgruntled WR. There's been times when a good player gets injured off the field and the team pledges the full salary.

I think that's the general consensus, while gimpy he refused to play out of fear of making his injury worse, and possibly trying to show the team how much they need him. Either way it wasn't a good look for him, but then this whole process he went through wasn't a good look for him. I think if he had an agent a lot of the drama there wouldn't have been all of the drama swirling around. Its much ado about nothing though, he got what he wanted

All I know is, Josh Allen's elbow was hanging off his wing, and he played. Patrick Mahomes was hopping on one stick and he played too. Guys remember that - who's there for them and who's not.

No question, it was a bad look for him, and one that the other players will remember.

Looks like the colts running back Taylor is now requesting a trade. I guess he met with the front office people over his desire for a new contact earlier this year. It looks like that meeting didn't go the way he hoped and thus the demand, and now Jim Irsay is saying they'll not be trading Taylor.

What seems odd is that he's in the last year of his contract, and he already seen the struggle that other running backs are going through - what makes him think the Colts would suddenly throw truckloads of money his way.

I only see two options, play and hope for a great year to help leverage a better contract, or sit out the year, incur fines but hopefully push the colts to offer something, either trade or money.

Sony Michel is hanging up his cleats. He signed a 1 million dollar single year contract with the rams, just a little while ago, but on the opening weekend of the Ram's training camp he retired.

Running backs get the crap knocked out of them, and with two super bowl rings (one from the Pats and one from the Rams), and getting paid relatively low, I'm not terribly surprised.

Word is, he has a new (idiot) agent, who's feeding him bad advice.

Sean Peyton is taking deserved heat of his comments about Nathaniel Hackett. Not professional. But honestly, I can't say he is wrong. Hackett did a horrible job with Denver, highlighted with Russell Wilson's regression.

The Hachett era certainly didn't work out the way that Denver fans thought it was going to.......I wonder if Wilson will be any better this year. Even if he is, the Broncos need to be looking for yet another solution for their long term QB

Oops, I spelled Sean wrong :)
