Colorado lost again. I think Deon's coaching prowess was largely a result of having a couple of really talented players on his team. He had Travis Hunter at Jackson State, and Colorado. His son also followed his dad, and while some may question the natural talent of Shedur, he was largely coached 24x7 and I think that largely helped him punch up above his weight class (so to speak)

Given all the medical issues he has, at some point, I believe he'd just step away, with his sons no longer in school, and for his own personal good.

I'm a horrible human being, and this going to sound really bad, but with them losing consistently, having no real positive outlook. It does seem a bit convenient for him to suddenly and publicly state he's having medical issues. The timing to me seems like its too much of a coincidence

Yes, he has had prior medical issues, that sidelined him and even had surgery to rectify, so that's why I feel bad about saying it, but it does look a little too convenient to me.

ITs going bad to worse for good ol' BB
Report: Bill Belichick’s UNC football is an ‘unstructured mess’ with a divided locker room
"There's no culture, no organization. It's a complete disaster."

UNC has a bye week, so they'll be quiet this week, but overall its been a horrible mess for Bill. Of course all of the distractions, and problems are 100% his fault. His granddaughter, err umm, his girlfriend keeps stirring up controversies, problems and distractions. He circumvented the board of trustees when he hired his son to be an assistant coach and making him the highest paid assist coach in UNC's history - there's no nepotism going, not at all

Remember back in 2022, he used Joe Judge as QB coach, he had zero experience and he largely ruined Mac Jones, or Matt Patricia who had zero offensive coaching experience but was placed in that role? Back then I viewed that a <insert profanity that starts with F> to Kraft and daring Kraft to fire him, but now I think he's just so delusional with his own coaching prowess he thinks he can put anyone in there

yup

Looks as we get into October, we're getting more games earlier in the week - not complaining by a long shot.

  • Wednesday's game - The 7:30 game may be the better of the two, but all 4 teams have a losing record, the only difference is that Missouri State is 2-3 and not 1-4 like the others. Still, there may be a level of parity and the games could be good.
  • Thursday's games look better, I'll probably watch East Carolina or Southern Miss.
  • Friday's game I'll either watch Rutgers or South Florida as I like those teams

That did cross my mind, but with his history, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, as well as caution that the current trend of moving coaches on and off hot seats week by week is perhaps getting out of hand.

That is the nature of the game, where results come first, and memories can be short. It is a cutthroat business for both coaches and players, and with the stakes and pressure raised even higher by the current NIL environment, has cost the game appeal, at least to this old timer.

However, nobody should shed any tears for the people who put themselves into position to be paid millions of dollars, in some cases are the highest paid state employees, and have golden parachutes written into their contracts.

I'm sure Belichick must have at some point discussed going back to college with his good buddy Saban, including the current state of the game. Saban publicly sounded his concerns, voted with his feet and could tell Bill "I told you so."

The process of recruiting and coaching a bunch of teenagers has never been easy, and only made harder since they now have the upper hand with NIL and the transfer portal.

I'm rather disappointed in Rutgers not beating Washington football. The game started out like they were in the 1st quarter, but by 3rd quarter it was out of reach for Rutgers.

So what happens if NC State beats ND? Will we finally see the Irish drop out of the top 25?

I can see the VOLS falling aslepp on the razorbacks...

Arizona State has quietly crept nto the Top 25...

Not sure what games I'll be catching today/tonight. Michagin vs USC looks good, it will be a bellwether game to show which team is a contender.

Can Texas bounce back against a really good Oklahoma team? This is the type of game that will determine if Manning's talent is along the lines of his uncles

Just finished watching Toledo vs. Bowling Green. I like Toledo, but you couldn't help root for BG

I'm rather shocked a some of them - Oregon falling to Indiana is obviously the biggest surprise. Texas seemingly putting it together for a good game and toppling Oklahoma was unexpected - good for Manning and his growth.

Not an upset, but Penn State falling again, is surprising. The wheels falling off the wagon over at happy valley. They also lost their QB for the season, which is devastating for the team and the player. From what ESPN is reporting, since Allar has played more then 4 games in the last 4 seasons, he has no eligibility left, is collegiate career his seemingly over. Only if the NCAA gives him a waiver - a hail mary if you will, can he return

Achilles ? What a shame. Yeah, PSU is in a shambles it seems. I personally felt like they were ranked way too high to begin with.

I'm in mourning. I can't believe we played like we did.
Bummers on your team losing.

This seems to be a common theme this season regarding ranked teams. Nearly every team tapped to be in the playoffs during the preseason seemed to have stumbled - Ohio State and Miami are the exceptions so far. I expect Ohio state to go undefeated, Miami's schedule looks fairly easy, so they should as well
