The start of rhe end for Red Bull Racing?

Christian Horner Sacked!

Horner has been a pivotable figure in building Red Bull Racing into what it is today. With pressure on Fred at Ferrari, could the Scuderia be in talks with Christian in the near future?

Insane if they sack Fred, you have to build something that can’t happen overnight.
It would also depend on why he has been sacked.

Race with wet stuff on the grey stuff is what makes it FIA and not NastyCar, US don't do wet... If there is rain, they cancel.. by rain, within 2 days..

I don't think the switching Fred for Christain will help Ferrari. Ferrari needs to leave Italy ;) But Christian isn't good for Ferrari, that definitely won't work...

So what will happen with Max, what will his play be...I am not even going to try to guess...

Yeah I like Fred and hope they don't replace him. As much as I dislike Horner as a person, he is also one of the best team managers in the business and will be very sort after I think. Lots of rumours flying around that Jos was angry Horner wasn't sacked last season and conditions around Max staying with the team have come into play. Red Bull have lost Newey, Wheatley and now Horner in the last 12 months, and although they've re-shuffled internally to appoint Laurent Mekies to replace him, I can't help but feel the team is in a major crisis now.

Ferrari leave Italy? That is like saying Renault should leave France... Never, they would rather burn the factory and scuttle the cars than move.. Any way move to where? The best bet would be the mid east, Saudi or Qatar..

Wow but still, now mid season, ballsy move.. I guess Minimum is going to demand his exit clause enforced.. No Daddy Chris, No Min Verstappen services..

I don’t believe it will be the end. Red Bull is far too large in Motorsports globally. Let’s give Laurent a year and see what happens. Perhaps this is where the Chinese enter as an F1 Team? 😉

Who leaves Mercedes? I can’t get a feel for it. There are compelling reasons for either to stay. I’d really like to see a Max/George Team. I like both drivers. The competition would be incredible. Toto can manage it. However, Kimi clearly has a bond forming with Max. I don’t get the feeling he would be chewed up by Max either. With all the investment Toto would need an iron clad plan to ensure he doesn’t loose Kimi as he did early on with Max. Kimi seems to me as someone Max would enjoy mentoring at this point in his career.

I suppose one could look at it as Horner’s firing was a condition of Max staying as well?

Summer break will be insane.

OK, so now that Chris is gone, 100% by tonight we should know the future of G Russell... He is out of Mercs by tonight..

This makes no sense? Why would they do this? They need to have a VERY good reason but none is being provided, instead all were have is endless praise from Red Bull for him.

Horners record:

8 Drivers World Championships

6 Constructors Championships

124 Wins

107 Pole Positions

287 Podium Finishes

And they fire him?? I DO have some theories though that relate to Newley leaving and it is why the car is a bit of a mess now even for Max. But nothing that really would lead to him being fired? Sigh what is happening to my team….. :(

I can’t see Max staying at RB now after his contract ends, no idea who he will go to though, probably go to Mercedes now Lewis is gone, he would never team up with Lewis. Looks like I shall have to fully move my support to McLaren now then as RB could become a mid tier team now. Wonder if it has anything to do with next years car development?

Red Bull have been flattered the past few years by getting the new regs perfect at the change.
Ever since then it’s been death by a thousand cuts.
The only team with 4 drivers can’t get a credible driver line up.
They seem lost with regards to developing the car to make it drivable.
Max is the only think stopping them being a laughing stock.
As a team they’ve probably been the worst of the big 4 over the last 12 months with no sign of fixing any of it.

But why would Max want the man who has delivered him several championships to be fired? What is your theory behind that?

I think Horner leaving means one of two things:

a) Jos/Max have made it a condition of Max staying that Horner be removed.

or

b) Max has already signed for Mercedes for 2026 and Horner has been blamed for his exit.

We may never find out though and can just assume, due to NDA's etc.

The dude that gave Minimum his titles is no longer employed, Mr Newey was the only reason Minimum won, C Horner couldn't manage a under 9 netball team... He is only there for show.. the real meat and potatoes left..

I think that would all Jos if true, he is angry and spiteful enough to be like that. I hope to God he never becomes Team Principle. I am not sure what would happen if Max moved to another team as that team would have to also deal with Jos then. Not good.

This reminds me of the BBC Screwdriver firing.. there is what they say, then there is the truth, was Clarkson fired, or did his contract expire, not renewed..

Horner to Audi or Cadillac.. Makes sense.. Max to Merc, makes sense, George to Audi-no, but Cadillac, yes..

It depends why he was sacked. No big brand is going to wed themselves with the things Horner has been accused of.

Key word, ‘accused’, and all proven to be false too. The reason will NOT be any false accusations. It will be just performance related most likely. Newey leaving left the team in a mess internally, doesn’t look like they have sorted that out yet. And if Max has gone too then that would be a reason.

Clarkson looked terrible at Silverstone. Wouldn’t want to be his liver.

Horner sacked?? I doubt it... That is what is said, but the truth is far from what a press statement is... All we know this might have been agreed to, 3 years ago, maybe Chris put in notice, but it sounds sexy to say fired...

We may never know what was said in the boardroom.. Sacked, resigned.. He is an ex employee, I wonder when his log on credentials expire.. or does he get to keep the company phone/laptop...?

Do you really believe that was all just made up?
Clearly something went on there, what can be proven and what has been twisted by either party is another matter.
But there’s no smoke without fire. There was obviously enough evidence that he had serious questions to answer and that’s a position someone of his stature shouldn’t be getting himself in.

Lots of vindictive people in this world, they employed a girl once who decided to used the RB F1 car for a private photo shoot she posed on and in front off and she then posted the photos on instagram or something, revealing all the cars secrets before it’s reveal. Although that was idiocy.
I do not know if Horner did anything wrong, but I do know legally it was all cleared and an appeal was rejected as baseless. F1 is almost as dirty as politics.

I believe in the legal system. This was independently reviewed. Sure not tested in court, that moment is due next year...So yes it could be, but based on the available facts that is not the case and nothing more but slanderous speculations.
