For what it is worth, Lindsey Vonn was brave, and she don’t regret anything I’ve heard 👍

Sweden will meet USA in mixed Curling later today.
My knowledge was not big before the games. See if I remember to watch, all opportunities to beat US is always fun 😉
I'm glad Lindsay Vonn doesn't regret trying and that the injury is not as bad as it could have been - that is the character of a gold winner. I will be happy if Canada meets Sweden or Finland in the hockey final, women's or men's, as that will mean the US didn't get there. Still recall 2010 Vancouver and Sidney Crosby's golden goal.

The woman's luge final is today, I was watching the earlier heats, that sport is fascinating - the distance between first and second is measure in hundredths of seconds and the tiniest miscalculation on the track can doom an athlete.

That and bobsled are quite exciting.

I watch sports to avoid any politics.

I think I'll skip watching the winter olympics this year.
Same,
maybe I'm lucky, but the events I've been watching, I've not seen any politics. Go to the news sites, paints a different picture, but I generally avoid them for the very same reason. I try to watch the events live, and maybe that's why. If I were to have any complaints, its that NBC doesn't show the medal ceremony. I was watching the ski jumping last night, and the pure joy of the winners was so special - I would really like to have seen the medal ceremony.

The medal event for the team skating was wonderful. The teams were all happy and they also mixed, hugged and took photos together at the end.

When we start to get into more skiing, it gets really fun 😎🌟

Women’s start in the sprint of Cross country Skiing, was not bad - Sweden (Swahn, Sundling, and Dahlqvist) took all 🥇🥈🥉

In Men’s sprint, the Swedes wasn’t that successful.

🥇Johannes Hösflot Kläbo, 🇳🇴 was as usual....
🥈Ben Ogden, 🇺🇸
🥉Oskar Opstad Vike, 🇳🇴

I just finished watching the woman's luge competition, and it was awesome and highlighted all what is right about the Olympics.

Germany's Julia Taubitz won the gold
Latvia's Elina Bota won the silver
USA's Ashley Farquharson won the bronze

Ashley was not expected to medal at all, but she had such strong showing, and on her last run you could see her overcome with emotion knowing she just medaled.

Speaking of luge, I like the sliding sports announcer on the US broadcasts, Leigh Diffey. His motorsports experience make his calls high energy and memorable.

I wish Mike Emerick still did play-by-play for Olympic hockey. I’m not really a hockey fan but he made the (often low scoring) games exciting.

Other broadcasters who are greatly adding to my enjoyment of the Olympics:
Erin Hamlin (luge)
Katherine Reutter-Adamek (short track)
Bree Schaaf (bobsled)

I like the drone footage, especially on alpine skiing. It adds a lot to the traditional static cameras.

Well Canada crushed Switzerland in hockey- I didn't expect it so high. Big big surprise ice tine men's figure skating final. Wow I felt really bad for Ilia - as for Adam Siao but wow Mikhail Shaidorov from Kazakhstan skating a nearly flawless program. Beautiful as was when Ilia Malinin congratulated him afterward showing good sportsmanship. I saw footage of Mikhail taking a class with the champion Kazakh skater the late lamented Denis Ten. Well done. Now on to pairs and the women's competition.

Sad to learn that Lindsay Vonn will require more surgery for her leg. 🙁

Shame that the IOC banned Ukrainian skeleton athlete Vladyslav Heraskevych due to his "helmet of remembrance".
I don't think the IOC does a good job, but their intent was to avoid politics as much as possible.

While I get what the athlete was doing and why, and no knock on him, yet he knew going into the event that this was not going to be allowed.

Oh no, our Hockey guys was beaten by Finland 🥲
Ah well I didn't see it, I picked a Women's Champions Leaugue match, that also goes on now.

So I didn't missed that much. See if I can watch another game, they gotta win then 👍🏼💯

Then our ski-girls was unlucky and angry on Norway, ah well I didn’t see that either until afterwards.
So missing the Swedish girls anger was good. It’s always incidents....when not winning 😉

Norway 🥇
Sweden 🥈
Finland 🥉

See what I can watch next?

How cool, Brazil got their 1st Winter Olympic medal, in giant slalom.
Lucas Pinheiro Braathen, a Norwegian born Brazilian with double citizenships, made it 👍🏼
His Mother is a 🇧🇷 and his father 🇳🇴
Must be a lot easier to take a place in the Brazil Winter Team than the Norwegian.
But a 🥇 medal is medal.

I, too, feel sad for Ilia Malinin, but he's young yet, he's an extraordinary skater and undoubtedly he'll be able to win other events over the next four years and participate in the next Olympics. I think it was all just too overwhelming for him: his first Olympics, the high expectations just about everyone had that he'd come home with several Gold medals, the extreme attention from the media and demands for interviews, etc. He's probably learned a lot from this experience. And, yes, he is an example of good sportsmanship....

I've seen part of Mikhail Shaidorov's performance and he is dazzling. He absolutely deserves the Gold medal for his stunning skating. It's really rather cool when an underdog, a dark horse, suddenly appears seemingly out of nowhere and wins the gold. The first skating gold medal for his country....

I can't imagine the pressure Malinin must have felt. But yeah, he'll be OK... unless some other tremendous prodigy shows up between now and the next winter Olympics? That would be too cruel a fate.

The chats here, yesterday.
-How Ebba Anderson in skiing had to carry one ski as it broke and ski on one ski a while, if she left the broken ski she had been disqualified.
She got a new one later, so she's still in the game, even if she didn't win that race.

-Canada's Curling team that that was disqualified for 'douuble-touch' in Curling - there's cameras everywhere dear people, so no use to deny 😉

Watching the ski jumping off the large hill - that was something I always wanted to do, back in my younger days. Its quite fascinating.

Looks like the US took the gold and bronze in the woman's bobsled. After watching the luge and skeleton, I can't help but think that the bobsled is so large, clunky and slow - and this is the single person bobsled, never mind the 4 person one. Because of that, I largely didn't watch this event.

Our Hockey Girls lost to USA with 5 - 0 😢
But they were positive anyway, so now recharging for the 🥉game

Our Guys looks fairly good - winning with 6 - 1 against Latvia 🇱🇻
Bit more playing together they will be 😈
Tomorrow Quater-Final against 🔥 🇺🇸
